Chapter 1

Her eyes fluttered as her senses began to awaken from their slumber. Long brown hair flowed down her back as she sat up, running her fingers through the tangles as gently as she could. Her freckle speckled cheeks had a rose color to them as she finally opened her eyes. The green blue eyes that had never seen the rays of the sun that she was told that could kill her.

The girl did her daily routine and walked to the window seat, looking out at the fleeting headlights of cars and the streetlights that started to illuminate the small city. A small smile overtook her pink lips as she grabbed her bag, heading downstairs to greet her older brother who would be returning from work at this hour.

As if on time, the older male that went by the name Aiden, entered the house as she made her appearance. ” Altheria, slow down.” He laughed a bit and watched his only sister slip on her shoes as she put her sketchbook in her bag. “I can’t. I could miss it if I don’t hurry.” Altheria said as she finished tying her shoes to complete her comfortable style for the warm night. A chuckle brought her attention back to her brother.

“Don’t scare him this time and be home before sunrise.” he says as he ruffled her hair. Altheria rolled her eyes and swatted at his hand before bidding him good night. She left the house and headed for the park where he was. He was a tall male whom she had known about for years but sadly he had never known her. He was Lucas Gofer, the most popular male in her grade as well as her crush.

She walked towards him slowly and she could hear him muttering to himself. “Lucas, you can’t mess up. You got this, Lucas. Just ask her. ” The tall male spoke to himself while standing near the swings, the spot that they swore to be theirs. The tall male with golden blonde hair and a matching beard stood before Altheria in a casual pair of blue jeans and a white shirt. She could tell that they had unknowingly matched in way with beaten sneakers.

“Ask me what?” she spoke up from behind him. The blue eyed muscular male turned around to see the somewhat shorter girl. He looked at her for a little while longer before smiling. ” Go on a date with me tonight.” Lucas spoke confidently though inside he was pacing up a storm. A smile appeared on her lips. “Isn’t this a date?” she asked cheekily which caused him to laugh a bit. She was right. They had gone on many nightly rendezvouses yet neither clarified how the other felt.

Lucas smiled and offered his hand to her. She gladly took it and they headed for the amusement park that would hold the memory that would last them a lifetime. It would hold the memory of their undying bond.
