A new sort of danger.

I am Isabelle. Isabelle Elizabeth Jones. I am supposedly "popular" in my school, even if my so-called "friends" only hang out with me because I am good-looking. I am actually extremely shy, despite my popularity. At the moment, I am leaning against the door to my bedroom, tears streaming down my pale cheeks. For some reason, I am extremely pale. If vampires were real, you would have thought I was one of them I am so pale.

Sobs racked my body, and I clamped my hand over my mouth to muffle the noise. Unfortunately, my attempts to keep quiet really didn't work out well. I could only control my emotions enough to slow down my tears. The only thing louder than me was my mother's screams and my father's bellows from the other room. We had been attacked. Again. Last time this happened, there wasn't as many people. But now... there was almost three times as many people. My family is the head of a important corporation that spread throughout North America and the United Kingdoms. If my parents died, I would be the heir to that company, since my twin brother hadn't been chosen. He was hanging out with some friends for the weekend, and didn't know what was happening. You would expect that we would be well protected and we wouldn't be in this situation, but we were betrayed. Our protection only went as far as nobody except my Dad's most trusted employees, and one of those employees broke that trust and spilled the beans. My life was awesome.

Key word: was.

I heard loud footsteps approaching my room. Loud, booming footsteps accompanied by a demanding voice. "Come out little girl... I don't wanna hurt 'ya. Just come out an' play with me an' my friends." The man slowly approached my room. My loud sobs stopped at the voice and I darted under my bed, careful to keep my footsteps silent as I did so. I felt the floor around me once I was under there, my hand clasping on a knob. My mother had installed a trapdoor under my bed just in case anything happened. It led to a bunker with food, water, soda, a phone, and was pretty much another little house. That would keep me safe until the police came. If they ever came. Mom had informed the Lieutenant of the local police that it was there, and if I wasn't in the house or near it, I was hiding out in there.

And if I wasn't... Mom hadn't told me what would happen if I was ever taken.

I opened the trapdoor and slid in, locking it behind me.

Now it was time to let my emotions take over.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...

Bargara4670: This was a refreshingly different love story. Both Hadleigh and Grant were strong and likeable characters. It was satisfying to see their relationship develop. I wonder if this story will be the first in a series. I would be interested to find out if Marina is bonded.
