ONYX THE SOVEREIGN SLAYER CHRONICLES
"What an intense and action-packed opening chapter! The dark atmosphere, Onyx’s relentless pursuit of revenge, and the mystery surrounding Azura and Embry immediately pulled me into the story. I’m especially intrigued by Onyx’s past and what happened during those missing three years—there are so many unanswered questions that make me eager to keep reading. Great start, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes him!"
Very Intriguing
"This story overall is very well written and easy to read as well as with grammar, spelling etc. I enjoyed the fact that you choose to present such compelling and intense scenes very early on as to draw readers in and make us hungry for more on your story! It seems at the beginning a very dark story as though it will be drug out, but you manage to present a nice story line that keeps you hooked as a whole. The characters in the beginning, I feel could use some more detail as to exactly what has happened before but continuing the story brings everything together in an empowering way. I have really enjoyed the current chapters and can't wait to see what the rest of the story holds! Thank you for a very intriguing read!!"
Flawless
"This story is fantasy. It's engaging, beautiful imagery, spectacular fight scenes, and spelling and grammar as far as that goes is just on point. This is a unicorn of stories. I think that if anyone has the time they should invest it in reading this story. I thought it was amazing to read it. Every second was just page turn after page turn. And the best part is that it's still going. I can't wait to read more chapters!"
Nice!!
"I really liked this. It was intriguing, and left you wanting for more constantly. It was a fun ride and I'm glad I read it:D"
Great Read
"First off, I wanted to say the plot was intense. I haven’t finished reading yet, but I did want to give this story the review it deserved. The plot follows the young Onyx and his journey, which is full of a lot of surprises. I liked how realistic and authentic the personalities were with him and his group. The names you came up with were very unique and the place’s political standings with the different factions were very well thought out. There were two main points I think you can work on to improve the flow of the story, however, including some of the grammar and POVs. Spelling wise, I haven’t seen anything so far. The long paragraphs could be broken up a bit better and the uses of commas I think is a bit of a need. The other thing is the POV for all the characters. When doing multiple POVs, maybe use a “.....” to separate who the narrating is following or even use different chapters to differentiate it. There were a few instances I had to go back a paragraph or two to realize that new characters were either being narrated or it switched from Onyx to Tykal as an example. I understand the want to show everyone’s thoughts and views when they’re taking the lead of the scene, but making it a little more separated might help it flow a tad better. Overall, I really enjoy this story. I am getting closer to catching up to the latest chapter and will continue to read it in between work and school! I recommend this to anyone looking for a dark adventure who isn’t afraid of blood or gore. It is a great read!"
A Great Journey
"I’ve read some fantasy and adventure stories before. Others are good. Some are not very. However, this story, ‘Onyx The Sovereign Slayer Chronicles’ is definitely a good book, especially considering it’s a webnovel. I admire the setting. It’s very well thought of. I can say the author really planned the details of the world before they began writing. There is also a vast array of characters, which is conventional for this genre, but still, they are distinct from each other. Doesn’t the author get headaches from writing them though? Hahaha. Another points that I like are the contents of every chapters. Though rather episodic, they have this strong connection to each other. So far, the story incorporates various story arcs, and they all stand for the title, for being a chronicle, and this story will be very lengthy. Now, going on, the writing style is fantastic. Nevertheless, I suggest the author to employ different rhythms on their writing. Since the story showcases lengthy expositions (a feature of 3rd Person Omniscient POV). They can try altering the length of sentences and keep those that have the same syllable count or sentence structure from each other. When the default writing tense is in past tense and want to create a flashback, the author may use the past participle tense (you know, the one with had & had been). This is for the readers to distinguish what’s a flashback and what isn’t. Other than these, I really don’t see any reason why readers won’t like this book. They will love it. I can also recommend this to my friends. Thank you for this story!"
This is a first draft
"I could only make it through four chapters. We have no idea what any characters look like, names are taken from history, locations and other fictional characters the author has no rights to. The plot is just everywhere and nothing makes any real sense. The author had no research done into military tactics, physics, weapons, crafting, etc. This honestly reads like a middle schooler's first ever creative writing project after watching Berzerk, and playing Final Fantasy. Id say more but I can't without posting spoilers "
