The Stolen Shopping Cart

Where did it go? I thought I left it right here A girl about the age of 18 looked around, an assortment of fruits and vegetables in her arms.

She looked up and down the aisle of the large supermarket. Her green eyes began to glow as she looked around slowly. There were blue signatures everywhere. Her eyes finally caught on to a green signature next to an another odd signature. Found it Her eyes went back to their dull color and she made a mad dash to the next aisle.

“Look what you've done! Not only do we have our cart, but we also have someone else's cart!” A woman lectured a man about the age of 19.

“I got it, I got it, I just thought it was our cart instead of someone else's! I'll go put the cart back where I found it,” He said, trying to calm down the 17 year old woman.

“That won't be necessary,” The green-eyed girl interfered.

The 2 quit arguing and faced her. The air around the 2 of them were quite different. You could say the 2 sensed the same strange aura around the green-eyed girl. “Would this be your cart?” The man asked.

“It is. I would like it to be returned to me,” The green-eyed girl said, plainly.

“Here you go, miss,” The man returned the cart.

“The name's Fae. Fae Zavanella,” The green-eyed girl introduced herself.

“Blayze Poskanzer,” The man introduced himself before pointing to the woman next to her, “And this is Kalama.”

Fae decided the man wasn't very dangerous, but was more friendly than his aura gave off. “Thank you for returning my shopping cart, but I must be going now,” Fae broke their silence.

“Glad to have stolen it and then return it,” Blayze gave a smirk before he and Kalama turned around and walked away from her, taking their shopping cart along with them.

Fae watched the back of their heads, Blayze's hair being long and a dark red, pulled back in a loose pony tail while Kalama's a faded red with bold white stripes put into a tight bun with only her bangs that brushed across her face left to be loose.

Fae's eyes glowed green as she saw a red signature in Blayze while Kalama's was blue with traces of a red signature. She grew shocked as those two weren't at all normal before she caught Blayze's gaze from over his shoulder, his amber eyes glowed. Fae shook her head, placing her items in her cart and leaving the aisle.

“Welcome home, Blayze, Kalama!” A little girl had opened the door for Blayze and Kalama.

“Have you been sitting here at the window, waiting for us again, Agni?” Blayze questioned the 10 year old girl.

“Mmhmm,” The girl smiled, giving a nod.

“Did something happen?” Another man came up to them.

“Not much, but there happens to be a magic user in this town, Fintan,” Kalama told them.

“Wow. So there's the legendary mage in Winterlea, but one in this country, too?” Agni questioned, wonder filled her eyes.

“It seems that way,” Kalama answered her question.

“Blayze, are you going to go meet up with her?” The man named Fintan, asked.

“That's right, Fin,” Blayze answered.

“Does that mean I'll be helping you locate her?” Agni questioned.

“That's right. So get your gear ready. We're leaving in 30 minutes,” Blayze told Agni.

Agni smiled even wider, nodding her head.

“Are you sure you sure you want to take Agni with you?” Fin questioned.

“There's no better seeker in hide and seek than Agni. She can find a person in seconds. It takes me longer than her to find a person,” Blayze backed up his decision.

“Even so, why are you even after the magician in the first place?” Fintan questioned.

“If you're implying that he might kill the magic user, then you're wrong,” Kalama came up behind Fintan.

“Did you get my swords ready, Kalama?” Blayze changed the subject.

“Yes, I did. I got them both polished up and ready to go for you,” Kalama presented 2 long, skinny sheathes, each containing a sword.

Blayze wore a flame print shirt with black trim. The sleeves went even further past his hands and was widened at the end. One side of the shirt overlapped the other and was held in place with 3 buttons. The back of the collar rose and when reaching the very back, sloped back down. He wore a pair of baggy black pants that went right into a pair of black boots. His pants was held up by a dark red scarf, tied into a knot while the remaining scarf fell to his side and his shirt was tucked under the scarf. His hair remained in a pony tail with 2 long strands to framed his face.

“Alright, all ready to go!” Agni announced as she entered the kitchen.

“Alright, I'll be ready in just a couple of moments,” Blayze told Agni as he adjusted his 2 swords that crossed each other at his back.

Agni had the same styled shirt as Blayze, but it was a smaller size and had a much longer length as it went a little farther past her butt. Her pants were also black and fit the curves of her legs. A pocket lay on Agni's hip where 4 handles of knives could be seen peaking out. The pants ended at her knees and she had a pair of flip flops on her feet. The dark red scarf was tied in the back into a neat bow. A quiver of arrows were on her back as she carried her bow in hand. Her black hair was tied back into 2 buns. Her eyes were a red-brown color.

“You 2 might as well eat before you head out,” Fintan sighed as he got up from the bar stool and walked over to a part of the kitchen.

Blayze finally finished adjusting his swords and Fintan presented the two with bread, butter spread on the 2 pieces. “Thank you, Fin,” Agni thanked him as Blayze gave a nod.

They quickly finished the pieces before they left their home, evening coming upon the town. “Are you ready, Agni?” Blayze questioned the girl.

“What am I looking for?” Agni asked.

“Your looking for a person with green,” Blayze answered.

“Then this game is going to be too easy,” Agni told him.

Blayze turned into a large fire bird: a phoenix. With large wings of fire, a long tail and a pair of talons. He allowed Agni on his back and took flight.

Agni's eyes gave a low glow searching the city for a green signature. It had been only 30 seconds and Agni pointed to the right. “I found her,” Agni told Blayze.

Blayze took a 90 degree turn, waiting for his next set of directions. “There's a tall blue building on the next street just to the right of main street there, can you see it?” Agni asked and received a nod.

“Land on that building and we can cut her off,” Agni told him.

Blayze followed Agni's instructions. He landed on the blue building and transformed back into his normal self. They quietly climbed off the roof of the building.

The mage they had been looking for, Fae Zavanella, was only 50 meters away and coming closer to where they stood in wait.

My Second Chance

kitkatbar29: So this first book in this series I liked. A good plot that flowed well for the most part with some twists along the way, good well developed characters... there are a few technical mistakes, but nothing to harsh. I must say toward the end of the book there were some issues with like a quick change ...

hazel_walker: Okay, this chapter was WILD 😭 The whole werewolf system, the FBIDWC, the discrimination, and the fact that Sylvia has been keeping Collin and Dylan’s situation a secret all came together so well. I especially loved the school chaos and Sylvia immediately going into protective-mom mode. And that end...
