A bloodier tale to be told

"The Brothers Grimm created frightening fairy tales so it can sometimes take a lot of doing to make them better. Making them bloody is one thing, but making the story entertaining and keeping the twist fresh is always a challenge. That being said, this version of Hansel and Gretel is very well done indeed! This is a great story! The characters feel very real and original, the plot is constructed well and it reads just like a good fairy tale for bloodthirsty children. I love the character development of the characters as well as the dark humour that runs through the story. There are a couple of grammar and spelling mistakes but nothing that really detracts from such a good read. Keep up the good work! This is a good beginning!"

Handsome and Gorgeous

"If I were to call Hansel and Gretel something else, it would be that. But this story is really well done! The stepmother has a really funny name, and the exaggerated hatred into Hansel and Gretel. I'm okay with the father, he's not as bad as I thought when I first heard him in the story. This is a really good story and a very creative idea, but I'm not seeing a lot of magic in the story! That's my only complaint. Although the stepmother could turn into a demon (ugly beasts characteristics). So yeah! This is really great stuff and good luck in the contest of Wanderlust!"

Wow

"Definitely not what I expected from a Hansel and Gretel story. I liked your portrayal of the relationship between the two children and their stepmother, and the dialogue as they prepared to storm the city. The writing was simple and evocative. I enjoyed it very much. I would have liked to know more about what the man was, and I didn't quite understand the purpose of the whistling. But either way, I liked it a lot. Good luck in the contest!"

Interesting

"You have been able to describe the scene of Hansel and Gretel attacking a village well. You can show the reader what they are doing, step by step. It was very well done. Keep up the good work. It is interesting how people make up new stories based on well known old stories that we have listened to when we were younger. Thank-you for sharing this well written story! :)"
