Adoption
-Kakashi’s POV-
I’m called into the Hokage’s office but when I get there, I’m surprised to see Gaara the kazekage, Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura as well.
“Did you need something, Hokage-sama?” I ask.
“Pfft, Stop with the Hokage stuff, Kakashi-sensei.” The Hokage, Uzumaki Naruto waves his hands.
“This is serious Naruto!” Sakura yells and punches his head.
“Sakura~” Naruto clutches his head in pain.
“... So... What’s the problem?” I ask.
“We’ve found a jutsu... That can allow you to go back to where your biggest problem started.” Gaara explains.
“Huh...” I ask.
“Basically a time travelling jutsu.” Sasuke says.
“And that has something to do with me because?” I ask again.
“We’ve decided to send you back.” Naruto smiles.
“YOU WHAT?!” I yell.
“Think about it sensei~ You’re older then all of us so you can go pretty far back~” Naruto says.
Frick... That’s a good point.
“And you’re smarter then all of us.” Gaara says.
I don’t think that’s true...
“And you can train us better.” Sakura says.
“And you can lead me into the right path.” Sasuke points out.
Ok, that’s important.
“What time will I get sent back to?” I sigh.
“Wherever your biggest problem started.” Naruto says clapping his hands once.
My vision suddenly gets engulfed with white lights.
“Take care of my younger self, Kakashi.” I hear Naruto say before I fell unconscious.
I rub my eyes with a groan and sit up.
What day and what time is it?...
I look around and noticed a few things.
Crap! Did I really get sent back in time?!
I ran to my bathroom and stared at the mirror.
No way...
I’m 18!!
I lifted my headband off my left eye and see a sharingan staring back at me.
I have it back...
It’s really real.
Wait that means...
Team 7 are currently 3 years old!
What?! They aren’t even in the academy yet!
What kind of ‘my biggest problem’ shit is here?!!
I groan once again.
Oh shoot... That means Naruto is being hated by the villagers and the Hokage is alive...
I change into quick and simple clothes and head towards the orphanage.
First step... Take care of Naruto.
He should be there at this age.
I walk in and hear the squeals of children.
“Welcome. Do you need anything?” A woman who looks around 30 years of age, asks me.
“Would there be a child here that goes by the name of ‘Uzumaki Naruto’?” I ask.
“Ah. The little demon brat.” She frowns.
I mimick her frown but nod anyways.
She sighs.
“Oi, You brat. You have a visitor.” The woman spits at the corner of the room.
I see a 3 year old child perk up and runs out.
“I’ll leave you two to bond. Then you can make up your mind if you want to adopt him or not.” The woman says and leaves.
Naruto watches her leave quietly and with a blank stare.
“Naruto?...” I call out.
He jolts up and turns towards me with fear written all over his face.
I feel pain in my heart as he stares at me with those eyes.
“My name is Hatake Kakashi. Why don’t you tell me a bit about yourself?” I ask with a smile.
He shakes his head and tears up a bit.
“What’s wrong?” I ask.
Weird... He hasn’t talked at all...
Why?
“N-Not... ’llowed t-to talk... Otherwise... Ma’am...h-hits me.....” He says in the most quietest voice I’ve ever heard.
That makes my blood boil.
But I don’t show my anger.
“I see... Well Naruto, you can talk around me. I won’t hit you.” I say bringing my hand up above his head.
He freezes a little but doesn’t reject me so I place my hand on his hair, ruffling it softly.
He seems to have stopped shaking.
“Really?” He asks.
“Yea.” I hum.
He smiles.
“I... I like rwamen!” He exclaims happily.
I chuckle.
“Do you now?” I ask.
He nods cutely.
That’s it! I’m adopting him! He’s mine now!
“Naruto. I want you to go and pack anything you own then come back to me, ok?” I ask.
He tilts his head in confusion before nodding and running to his corner, grabbing a few things.
The woman comes back.
“What did you tell him to do?” She asks in an angered tone.
“I told him to pack his things. I’m adopting him today. This hour. This minute. This second. Right now.” I say pointing down.
She grumbles before handing me papers to sign.
I sign them with ease.
“Now. Please leave. I’m happy that he has a new home now.” She says NOT SOUNDING HAPPY AT ALL.
IN FACT SHES PROBABLY ONLY HAPPY TO GET RID OF ‘THE DEMON’.
I. So. Want. To. Punch. Her.
Naruto comes stumbling back to me in a hurry.
He opens his mouth to ask me something but before even a sound came out he sees the woman and shuts his mouth immediately.
“Naruto, come with me, ok?” I ask.
He nods and walks towards me with a single bag. It’s not even big, from the looks of it, he probably only packed like 3 pieces of clothing.
That needs to change.
I hold his free hand and he looks at me wide eyed as we head outside.
“What’s wrong?” I ask.
“Y-You’re holding my hand.” He says.
“Of course I’m holding your hand. I don’t want you to get lost.” I laugh a bit.
“No one ever holds my hand.” He says.
Oh...
“That changes from today.” I tell him.
He smiles widely before gripping my hand back.
I head to my apartment and listen to everyone throwing hate towards the young blonde.
But as soon as they see me holding his hand, they start whispering.
I frown at everyone.
“S-So... Where we going? Why I have my things?” He asks curiously.
I laugh again.
“Naruto. You’re coming to live with me.” I smile.
His eyes widen slowly and the biggest smile I’ve ever seen has been placed on his face.
“Really?... You not joking?...” He asks.
I nod.
His eyes start gathering tears as we continue to walk to my place.
“Woah! Hey, why are you crying?” I ask as I crouch down.
He rubs his eyes with his hands and sniffles.
I gently picked him up and carried him back to my apartment.
He hesitates but he wraps his small arms around my neck and buried his face in my shoulder.
I smile at his action and unlocked my front door.
I then set him down in front of the door.
“Naruto... Welcome to your new home.” I say.
