Chapter 1

Jessie didn’t know what to think. Here she was, a young woman of twenty-five and three quarters, not to mention she wasn’t even paying her own bills totally yet, and the forty-something Danielle in her black lace jacket and red lipstick was staring her down across the bar. Jessie was out at the local “Good Times” bar down the street from her shabby apartment with her best friend James when she noticed the cougar or bombshell or whatever making eye contact.

“Your move,” James nudged Jessie and nodded in the direction of the brunette.

James was a twenty-six-year-old black dude with a high IQ and a tremendously good heart, according to Jessie. He was attractive with his blue-rimmed glasses and thin beard. Jessie, however, was only interested in James for his friendship and personality—though they had fooled around once or twice. To Jessie, it was fun, and she was the dominant during the fooling around sessions, but she was desperately yearning for that woman to make her feel utterly and completely vulnerable. And so far, that’s what this woman across the bar was making her feel. Just from a look.

“You sure I shouldn’t wait?” Jessie, two cranberry vodkas in, loudly whispered into James’ ear. Jessie’s bright blonde hair was in a messy bun that rubbed against James’ face as she spoke in his ear.

“Of course not!” James encouraged. “Here, allow me madam,” James stepped out of his high bar stool and bowed with one arm across his ripped abdomen towards the buzzed, yet somewhat confident Jessie. Jessie was taking a another gulp of her third drink when James bowed, so she almost choked trying to set the drink down and yell after the determined friend, “James, wait! I don’t think this is such…*cough*...a…*cough*…”

But it was too late. Danielle had stopped chatting with the fifty-something, silver-haired gentleman to her left to stare at the choking Jessie and smiling James who was making his way towards her.

“Excuse me miss, but I couldn’t help but notice your gaze on my best friend Jessie over there…” James politely introduced the coughing Jessie across the bar with a casual finger point.

Danielle’s face immediately lit up with pleasure.

“Well, she is intriguingly cute,” Danielle spoke through a smile and then winked at James.

Oh God. Jessie thought. Jessie was so used to getting her hopes up and things not working out that she was only a little nervous. And after the terribly annoying coughing fit from the cranberry vodka and lemon, Jessie finally offered a sheepish wave over to the pointing James and winking Danielle.

“I’m Danielle,” the brunette sensually tossed her brown waves over her shoulder as she shook James’ steady hand.

Well if I don’t go now things will just be awkward. Jessie thought. After a swift, clumsy knock-back of her drink. Jessie slowly and carefully stood up and made her way across the bar to where James and Danielle were conversing. Here goes.

“Care for another?” Danielle slowly dragged her lavender painted fingers across Jessie’s shoulder blade. The two were sitting in close proximity—Jessie was a little hunched and Danielle had her body completely turned towards the intoxicated millennial.

It was almost 3:00 a.m. at “Good Times.” James was long gone. The bartenders were zipping around cleaning up the bar and telling people it was time to close their tabs and head home.

Jessie had been drunkenly telling Danielle all about her life when Danielle broke the touch barrier.

“I um..well…” Jessie stammered, as the touch had caught her quite off-guard. The room was spinning slightly. She looked from her drink to those beautiful blue eyes and then back to her drink.

“Let’s have another,” Danielle executively decided with a nod. “Come on hon.”

Just then, Danielle reached towards the stammering Jessie with a smile and placed a reassuring hand on Jessie’s waist. Jessie immediately flushed. She had never been this intimate with someone nearly twice her age. Nonetheless, it was ecstasy to the searching young lady.

Before she knew it, Danielle was taking her by the hand and waist and guiding her stumblings out the door and towards Danielle’s ice blue Altima.

“Danielle, you are amazazing!” Jessie blurted out suddenly in the parking lot.

Danielle immediately laughed and caught Jessie before she fell face-first into the pavement.

“Be careful, dear.” Danielle whispered into Jessie’s ear. Jessie looked up right away and saw those perfectly painted red lips. She was drunk and uninhibited, so naturally she planted one right on Danielle’s cheek.

“Thanks,” Jessie said as she pulled away quickly after the kiss. Smooth.

“But you’re not my mom. Well, you actually could be, but that’s another topic!”

Danielle stopped right in her tracks. Shit. Why the hell did I say that?!

“Oh honey, if I were your mom would I do this?” Danielle cupped Jessie’s red face in her right palm and began making out with her right there in the parking lot.

Danielle had the control. The suave. The occasional bite and fire in her kiss. She wasn’t desperate. Not at all. Danielle was just a few inches taller than Jessie, so she held her up and held her head as she moved from Jessie’s lips to her neck and down further… down Jessie’s chest in between her medium-sized breasts. Jessie enjoyed every minute of the make-out. This was her first make-out with a woman. Her first kiss with a woman. She was in absolute bliss. It was like something deep inside of her was completed. She felt whole.

“Are you okay?” Danielle stopped her gentle kisses to ask Jessie. She brushed some of Jessie’s blonde hair out of her eyes and smiled.

“Yeah,” Jessie replied. Apparently “yeah” was the only word up there on cloud nine.

“Let’s go babe.” Danielle returned her hand to Jessie’s waist and helped her into the passenger side of her car.

Omg. Jessie couldn’t think clearly. But tried to get to know this Danielle, this angel, on the trip to Danielle’s. So far Jessie found out that Danielle was an account executive at a local marketing agency. She had never been married, not even once. And didn’t know if she even wanted a “full on” family.

“No more alcohol for you, okay?” Danielle looked Jessie straight in the eyes at a red light.

“Oh no, I know that silly,” Shit! I just called her ‘silly.’ What is wrong with me? Okay, let’s recover.

“I think I’m gonna call you ‘Dani.’ Do people call you that?” Jessie attempted to gain some dominance, or at least equality in the flow of the conversation.

Danielle smiled briefly, then said, “Sure. But are you sure you don’t want to call me ‘Mommy?’” Dani joked while keeping her eyes on the road.

Jessie laughed along with Dani politely.

“Oh, I’m just joking, Jessie,” Dani reassured the young Jessie and casually placed her hand on Jessie’s inner thigh.

Omg. Jessie froze up a little as Dani caressed her inner thigh. She made little circles with her thumb. That lavender painted perfection. Jessie could feel her body giving in to the lady. Her bones jumped with excitement.

“Okay, doll. We’re here,” Dani said as she was suddenly on the outside of the vehicle opening the car door for Jessie.

“That was quick,” Jessie slurred. The tall brunette gingerly helped Jessie outside onto the freshly cut grass. Jessie seemed to only be able to focus on Dani’s outfit-- an all black mini with a black lace jacket and black pumps. As Jessie put her feet on the ground, she eyed Dani’s tan, shaved legs all the way up to her mini skirt. Jessie’s heart skipped a little, and she looked away.

Dani immediately noticed Jessie’s averted gaze, and grabbed Jessie’s free hand.

“You can look if you want to, sweetie. Don’t be afraid. In fact...you can feel, too…” Dani moved Jessie’s unsure fingers up and down her smooth leg.

Jessie smiled to herself.

“That’s nice,” she said as she looked up into those gleaming blue eyes and brown hair (which smelled like a passionfruit cocktail).

“Come on, let’s go inside,” Dani wrapped herself around the sobering Jessie in one swift embrace, and then arm in arm they walked through the grass to the front porch.

She’s gorgeous. But am I ready for this? We just met. I don’t know hardly anything about her. Jessie and Dani were a curvy silhouette against the dark navy night sky. Jessie stopped on the porch. She was sobering up. Her fears and insecurities were now visible on her face. Dani stopped alongside Jessie with a confused look.

“What’s wrong?” Dani inquired with a caring tone. She held Jessie’s hand firmly.

Jessie let her head sink to her chest.

“I don’t think I’m ready for this,” she said softly against the night breeze.

“Oh, honey,” Dani said as she brushed some more blonde out of Jessie’s eyes.

“We don’t have to do anything you don’t want to,” she reassured the now sober young woman on her porch. Dani leaned in and gave Jessie a small peck on the cheek. Jessie smiled at the ground, and then nodded towards the door.

“Okay, let’s go in then.”

The sheets were a dark lavender, of course, with a down comforter. Her bedroom was modernly decorated with miniature stone sculptures and marble counters.

The two women entered the room, leaving all apprehension aside. They were holding hands still when they made their way towards the bed. Jessie sat down on the edge of the cool feeling bed while Dani leaned in over her. Their eyes were locked.

Jessie let out a deep, audible breath. The two laughed in unison. Dani was coming down on Jessie slowly, about to kiss her lips.

It was soft and luscious. The fire was back. Mmm this is awesome. I wonder how many women she has slept with like this. How many men? But the kissing grew in intensity as Jessie laid down on the bed with Dani crouched on top of her.

Dani straddled Jessie and pulled her arms above her head in a dominant move. Suddenly, Jessie let go of all of her inhibitions and let Dani lie down with herself on top.

“Oh, very good, love,” Dani whispered while allowing Jessie to lead the way.

Jessie smiled. But this time it was a different smile, a knowing smile. Jessie felt empowered to dominate Dani in this moment. She didn’t know why, but she then pulled Dani’s hair a little and softly bit her ear. Next, she sat up pressing down Dani’s wrists to her bed level with Dani’s head.

“Don’t underestimate me,” Jessie toyed right before she began kissing Dani’s belly button...and further down…

After Jessie finished, Dani slyly slid out from under Jessie and spanked her.

“Oh!” Jessie smiled as she loved this behavior in the bedroom. Dani was now kneeling on the floor at the foot of the bed as Jessie laid down with her legs dangling off the end of the bed. Dani began kissing Jessie on the lips, then the neck, then the belly, and further with her hands grasping Jessie’s thighs.

The two were entranced in one another. Dani, an older, more experienced woman with a thirst for that youthful energy and innocence, and Jessie the young, vibrant lady with little exposure but a fire to be tamed.

The two lay next to one another under those dark lavender sheets. They were holding hands and spooning. They were chatting away softly about their lives; family, friends, work, dreams, anything to keep the conversation afloat. Soon enough, the two began to doze off in each other’s arms with Dani stroking Jessie’s arm.

Before Jessie fell asleep, she thought to herself, What a night. I hope we can be together. How will this work? Does it matter? What would my family say? Ah, fuck it.

Her one night was the ultimate in sensuality, sexuality, and, well, Dani-- this creature who finally allowed Jessie to let her hair down. Her one night with Dani was questionable by James and almost everyone that she confided in. But Jessie didn’t care. She had fallen quite quickly for Dani, and was sure Dani felt the same way about her. Her one night would continue the next weekend on her first official date with Danielle, the forty something brunette with a thing for lavender.
