What happens when your family is hiding a secret about who you really are
"This is the first book I have read by this author but it won't be the last Maura has always been an outsider so when her mother tells her they are moving to Canada at the end of the school year it doesn't matter that much to her. When trip to the river with some supposed friends goes wrong, she is rescued by Ron an older boy at her school. They soon become fast friends and then boy and girlfriend. During this time Maura notices certain changes not only with her appearance but also her diet esp her love raw meat. Something is going on but her mother won't tell her what exactly. Maura wonders if she is ill or dieing but the truth is much stranger than that The book hooks you from the first page right to the end which you don't quite see coming - looking forward to reading the next book in the series"
