Prologue
The light blue crystal shattered across the ground. A navy-blue mist started to erupt from it. It surrounded me. I couldn’t see anything.
“Levi, Levi, where are you?” I called into the mist.
“I am here, are you okay?”
I felt something at my legs. A red lava-like substance was growing from my feet and was gaining on me, fast. I froze. I knew I had to do something, but my mind was blank. I couldn’t move my legs now. My heartbeat accelerated, the lava was at my chest and started to cover my arms. I snapped back to reality and did what I should have done before. I opened my mouth to scream, but it was cut off as the lava hardened, and engulfed me. The lava had covered me completely and had hardened. Suddenly it cracked and fell off me, shattering into pieces when it hit the ground. I looked at the rock pieces around me confused. I glanced at Levi and he was covered in the substance too. I closed my eyes and told myself I was seeing illusions; I had a very long day and when I opened my eyes, I will not see any lava rock pieces. I opened my eyes and in fact, did not see any rock pieces. Actually, I didn’t see any concrete walkway or Levi. I glanced down and realized the ground was 3 meters below my feet.
