Take in the sights
This dark sky is a precursor of white mantle,
Delicate snowflakes mellow the town.
Snow falls again.
It brings sickness and death,
People no longer sing or dance.
Funeral marches forbidden till snow melts away.
Death awaits behind any door,
For every time I cough,
Its hands are lurking my soul.
Soundless details are born, elegant cold covers all,
It took our bodies but not my thoughts,
They shine in these desperate words.
Illusions are all I can conceive
Every hour is the same dream,
Nightmares are a morbid part of me.
No pain in breathing only weakness,
Always coughing my life out.
On my deathbed, chaos consumes me.
Every day, I perceive how terrible
This silence has cloistered me
Without words I finally stay.
Now I know what the horror of silence can mean,
My voice is forever gone,
Snow, as death, has built a pale cemetery for us.
A white mantle falls once more,
No echo around this forgotten place.
Death no longer awaits.
