Prologue.
I glared at the computer screen, willing the words to just appear on the screen as my mind goes completely blank.
“Come on, it can’t be that hard to write a few paragraphs.”
I groaned and stared up at the ceiling as I flopped back into my chair. I could hear the rest of the family moving around upstairs. Sighing I looked at the computer screen and slowly started to type then I heard noises outside, I froze and frowned listening for any more noises, but there was nothing, shrugging I continued with my work then I listened to the sounds again.
“What is that?”
I turned in my chair and looked at the front door in confusion; I curiously get out of the chair and made my way to the front door. Suddenly there was a loud bang, and I shielded myself as the door came in, and then all hell broke loose.
I screamed as two men grabbed me, I struggled frantically against their hold. I could hear mom and dad shouting and Maya screaming as more men ran upstairs.
“There are four here sir.”
I couldn’t see who they were talking to.
“Good, sedate then bring them out to the van.”
Suddenly there was a sharp pain in my neck which caused me to cry out. My body started to feel heavy, my struggles became weak as I was lifted and carried outside, and I closed my eyes as I drifted to sleep.
Not knowing if I would see my family again.
