Prologue

A Rude Awakening

In a universe full of wonderous things, one would begin to think if magic was real. From worlds covered with diamonds, star birthing nebulas filled with poisonous alchohol, vampiric stars consuming their own neighboring sibling, giant, invisible holes quietly creeping through space, and a handful of worlds teeming with life. But, in one certain world, magic is but a tool in a day to day life of the local residents on Terra Firma.

Ranging from Aura, to Artifacts, Matter Manipulation, and Alchemy, anyone can learn to cast spells, draw magical runes or create potions if they are willing to practice such arts. Though, some people were more talented to do one magical art over others, thus creating such people as Chi Masters, Wizards and Witches, Smithers and Alchemical Teachers. But even with such talented people, there are things even they do not understand about the world and the magic surrounding it. One of those brain stompers are known as Thaumantic Anomalies; locations harboring strange magical activities being caused by unknown means.

One such location is a large, tropical island, teeming with wild, undisturbed life. Until now that is.

A banshee-like scream rips throughout the large island, awakening many creatures with its’ ear-ringing screech.

A large, leathery creature wakes from its nesting place; inside a small cave. Littered around the creature are bones of many animals, as well as a few torn rags of ancient clothing and rusting metal plates of armors and weapons. An ocean breeze blows into the small cave, rousing the creature with its salty scent. It slowly crawls out of the cave and out onto the cliff face, the ocean beating against the base of the rocky wall.

Another creature wakes with a little jump, surprised to hear such a sound by something other than itself. It looks around its large, well lit cavern home, trying to find something that isn’t there. The shaggy creature groans onto its large, clawed paws to stretch before it lumbers out to find the culprit of the horrendous sound.
