.

Her olive golden brown skin was magnified by the Mediterranean sun, as her owners brought her to the city the bustling and thriving city of Philippi. She had a dream, a vision of a man, a Roman Jew coming to Philippi, a man named Paul. In her dreams she saw this man dragging men, women and children to their deaths. She saw a child killed in horror by this man but yet the vision showed him coming to her city killing the Olympian gods. She saw this man cut of the head of Zeus and this man dragging the goddess Artemis into the sea in the name of his God. Alexia knew this man was trouble. She had to stop him and warned the residents and the gods. Alexa a slave girl from the Asia Minor Ephesus as a matter of was given the gift of prophecy by the gods ever since she was a little girl. Before she was taken away as a slave, she was given at birth by her family to the goddess Artemis as one of her priestess. She missed Ephesus and she missed her sisters at the temple. Alexa missed the training that she was getting from the older priestesses and the visits from the goddess Artemis or Diana as the Romans called her. One day Alexa who was still not old enough to understand that she must not leave the temple grounds decided to explore the city. Alexa remember the city like it was yesterday, the market was lively just like the market at Philippi, Ephesus with many people from the empire. Tiberius Caesar was the emperor of the Roman Empire now, the second one. Alexa was not born yet during the time of Augustus Caesar but she heard that he was a better emperor than Tiberius . People from all over the empire was at the market in Ephesus just like they are in Philippi. Cretans, Romans, Medes, Persians, Jews, Babylonians everyone that was from and around the empire. There were even persons from Sheba, Ethiopia and even as far east as China. The olives, the grapes, the silk, the rugs, robes all fascinated Alexa, city life was interesting. Alexa remembers that day. She was captured by the slavers and sold to her current masters. The goddess Artemis had warned her in a vision but she had not listen. The slavers who caught her were from Macedonia , Philippi to be exact. Alexa was sold to a a wealthy merchant and if she was going to be a slave it would be with them

Alexa was free to move around the city where she used her gift that the goddess gave he to see the future. She kept seeing this man, she kept seeing the gods killed and she saw this man’s death at the hands of the Romans. She saw another’s man’s death who was crucified upside down also at the hands of the Romans. Who were they , she did ot know. All Alexa knew was one of the men will bring down the death of the gods and she was very afraid, At times she wished her gift of prophecy was not given to her but she was blessed with. A gift from the gods.

The merchant name was Alexander and his wife’s name was Althea, Alexander had a business partner

MaybeInACentury: This is probably the best book I've ever read in a really really long time. I couldn't stop once I started. Golden find. Though I do wish the story was written in present tense rather than in past tense, or had an epilogue about what is happening now, it is a masterpiece.
