Chapter 1
It was hot in here. It was almost unbearable how hot this room was. He was panting heavily now. The oxygen was leaving the room bit by bit. He took a deep breath but breathed in water. Suddenly the room was filled with water, reaching his neck. He looked down into the water, to see a male’s body drifting in the corner of the room. He couldn’t recognize who it was through the ripples, as he thrashed his arms to stay afloat. He held his breath and dipped into the water, going after the body. As he tried to grab the boy’s wrist, the floor of the room broke, and the boy fell through, along with the water. The image changed. He was now in the dark. He could see and hear nothing. He screamed out hello, but got no reply. Instead, a light turned on a few yards away, revealing 2 young boys playing in a pool. They were running along the edge of the pool, laughing and carrying on. Come and get me, the older boy taunted. The younger boy made his way to to the deeper end of the pool, chasing after the other. The older was much faster, making his way to the shallow end. As the younger was nearing the corner of the pool, he slipped and fell into the pool, hitting the back of his head against the edge. Then a phone started to ring. His eyes shot open. Dim light peered through a window, giving his bedroom a cozy glow. He looked over to see his phone ringing, the caller ID unfortunately familiar. He hastily grabbed his phone and pressed it to his ear. He sure was in for it.
“Park Jimin, why the hell aren’t you here? Boss is hella mad, and you have a client today!” yelled co-worker and best friend Kim Taehyung.
“Taehyungie, can you make an excuse for me today? I’m not in the mood to see that woman.” Jimin pleaded cutely.
*sigh* “Fine. This is the first and last time, Jimin. Boss isn’t gonna be happy, and neither is she.” Taehyung mumbled over the phone.
“I could care less. She stresses me out. I’d probably need the therapy more than she does.” Jimin chuckled.
“You know she pays good, Jimin. You could use this.” Taehyung said.
“Ah, I know. But right now, I need to take today off.” Jimin sighed.
“That again? You usually get over them after you wake up. Was it that bad? It wasn’t your fault, Jimin, you know that, right?”
Jimin squeezed his eyes shut and inhaled. “I know, but I just feel like it should’ve been me instead.”
“Look, Jimin. I’ll check if the boss could give you a new client. But you need to promise to come in tomorrow! Do you know how much money would be taken off your paycheck? A lot!” Taehyung ranted.
Jimin exhaled. He’s glad he has someone to get onto him for things like this. “I promise, Taehyungie.”
“Okay then. If you need anything, call me.” Taehyung said.
Jimin smiled, then hung up. He trusted and love Taehyung a lot. Taehyung had been there when his brother died. He’d been there when his parents left him for Busan. Jimin had hurt Taehyung many times before, yet Taehyung supported Jimin like there was no tomorrow. Jimin had lost people important to him. He was so afraid to lose Taehyung. He hadn’t been as open with anyone when he lost his family, but then he started working as a therapist. He decided that if he wasn’t able to help the person who was most special to him, he would make it up by helping other people.
“I hope he can really get me someone new. That woman is crazy.” He laughed at himself.

It was getting close to dusk, and Jimin had just fallen asleep when he heard a knock at the door.
He jerked up. “Aish, what the hell? It’s open!”
The door creaked open, and a head popped in.
“Jiminie, guess what I have~” Taehyung singsonged as he gave a boxy smile.
Jimin smiled. “Taehyung! Come in!”
Taehyung stepped in while hiding something behind his back. “What is that?” Jimin pointed to the white grocery bag behind Taehyung.
“Kimchi!”
Jimin’s stomach grumbled. He had only eaten a bowl of ramen noodles that morning.
Also, a little something else that I hope will make you happy.” He pulled out a piece of paper.
“Huh?” Jimin got curious and pulled the paper from Taehyung’s hand. It had his new clients information on it.
“Thank you, Taehyung.” Jimin smiled and pinched Taehyung’s cheeks.
“Now let’s eat, I’m hungry!” Taehyung whined.
While stuffing their faces with hot kimchi, Jimin read his new clients information aloud.
“Hm. Jeon Jungkook, age nineteen. Psychological symptoms...self-harm and social anxiety?” Jimin looked up at Taehyung. He just shrugged.
“I usually don’t deal with these problems,” Jimin said confused.
“Looks like boss wanted you to try something new,” Taehyung said as slurped up his kimchi.
“Sessions Monday through Thursday. Wow, he must be serious.” Jimin mumbled.
Taehyung laughed, “Hopefully he won’t be annoying like that Dahyun. Man, was she crazy.”
“Taehyung, the cause of that isn’t her fault. She’s just like that.”
“Jimin, she was hitting on you! But not just the normal flirting, she was so vulgar at such a young age. What, sixteen?” Taehyung asked, still surprised.
“Heh,” Jimin remembered when Dahyun had tried to kiss him once but got in trouble. People could be strange...
After they finished eating, Taehyung went home. That left Jimin sitting on the couch, watching cheesy dramas.
“Seokjin, please let me explain!” The girl on the television whined.
“I’m sorry, Chaeyoung, but there will never be any words for what you have done to my heart,” Jin said as he grabbed his chest and squinted his eyes like he was in pain.
“But Jin, I love you!” The girl screeched, then covered her face in embarrassment.
Jin took her arm off her face, then kissed her lips. “I love you, too.”
Then there were another 5 whole minutes of Jin and Chaeyoung making out, resulting in the end of the show.
“Seriously? Sixty-four episodes for that? I wish it was that simple when I dated.” Jimin laughed at himself.
Its been a while since Jimin had a girlfriend. His last one was when he was in his senior year, seventeen years old. He stopped dating when he applied for his job as a therapist. He was twenty-three now, almost 2 full years working at the rehab center.
Jimin checked the time. It was getting late, and he was tired. He cleaned up the kitchen and took a shower.
When he laid down in his bed, he browsed on his phone a little. He was thinking about how his new client would behave. As a therapist, he meets people with the same problems, but all of them different in a way. He grew more curious just thinking about it. So he turned his alarm on and placed his head on his pillow. His mind wandered off to his brother and his parents.
He soon fell asleep, falling deep into a nightmare he’s had for years now, but each time feels new.
