Excerpt

Heath came to stand behind Noah. Noah was looking up at the pictures on the wall in his bedroom, amazed at the drawings of beautiful black horses, of the lone cottage on the edge of a cliff overlooking the wild sea penetrating the dark coast, of large pumpkins in the garden, of people standing in various poses, and at the bottom his eyes lingered on a self portrait of Heath lying on a rock naked with his arms behind his head. His eyes were closed, the hair on his chest outlined in thick black charcoal. Noah's eyes watered. He felt Heath's presence, his body so close to his, his warmth encircling him as he stared at Heath in the sketch, his eyes brave enough to verge below the waistline, onto Heath's semi-hard cock. Noah couldn't help it - the desire was too much. He lifted his hand onto his crotch, wanting to squeeze the ache that was building up.

'Stop,' Heath interjected and Noah snatched his hand back down. He tore his eyes away from the wall and focused them outside the window.

'I'm sorry,' he said, but his voice was deep and husky, suddenly changed from the young boy he was when he'd first arrived, now a man standing in another man's room craving for something totally seductive and alien. He turned around to face Heath, expecting anger, denial, disgust etched on his face but instead was greeted with Heath's cold stare. Except, Noah could see through that hard façade, and found in his eyes a matching desire and pain to his. He touched Heath's chest and fondled a button on his shirt.

'Please go now,' Heath said, forcing his eyes away from Noah's face. His voice was rough, but beneath the rough edge was a fear so pure and rotten. 'Go to your room, now.'

Noah wasn't afraid or upset. But he stepped back to give Heath some space. He realized that they were both breathing fast, and he laughed. Heath gave him a confused look, but he couldn't stop laughing. He shook his head at Heath's questioning face, and then wrapped his arms around Heath's torso in a tight hug. Heath stiffened but before he could say anything, Noah let go and hurried out of the room.

He shut the door behind his as he went out, not lifting his gaze to look at Heath, afraid he might be compelled to come right back in again. It was almost bedtime for him. No sirens in his dreams tonight to keep him awake - he would sleep fine for once.
