Prologue
Unable to open her eyes, she crawled off shore slowly, the ocean waves hitting her back with force. “Shit..” Astrid hissed as the waves hit her weak body. The metal armor was literally pinning her down the sand. She coughed, feeling the salty water down her throat.
“FUCK” Astrid’s voice broke. Her arms were starting to feel sore. Astrid kept crawling painfully until she was safe from the waves. Rage building within her, she took a breath, letting out a scream of frustration. Still on her knees, her breathing became harsh, and with a glance at the island, she collapsed on the sand. Astrid could no longer keep her eyes open. She slowly closed her eyes, letting the weight of her exhaustion take over her body. And with a small glance, she closed her eyes, giving in to her pain.
