the invite: Pidge P.O.V.
Pidge’s day started off like normal getting up brushing her hair and putting on one of her favorite outfits which consisted of a lime green shirt and some leggings, she pulled her long hair up into a ponytail, she never really cared for her long hair, but her mother lived for it so she never cut it. She then went downstairs for breakfast, it was her favorite omelettes. She decided that she should bring her best friend, Keith an omelette as well. She knows how he feels about food, but she knows that he’ll make an acception for her. Grabbing a container from the capnet she put the omelette in it and then proceed to put it in her bag. Mrs. Holt slid a omelette on Pidge’s plate.
“What are you doing in school today Katie?” Her mother asked as she went to the sink and rinsed off the pan.
“Nothing much. I have to take a test for one of my classes today, but I should be fine.” Pidge replied.
Her mother nodded, just then her brother, Matt, walked in. “Good morning everyone!”
“Ugh. Turn down the cheerfulness. It’s too early.” Matt just laughed and gave their mom a hug. He sat down at the table to wait for his food.
“It’s never too early to happy. You just spend to much time with that emo guy.” Matt shook his head in exasperation.
“He’s not that emo, and he has nothing to do with the way I act in the morning.” Pidge defended Keith.
As Mrs. Holt slid an omelette onto her sons plate she inserted her piece. “Matt you used to be just like her in the mornings. So don’t go judging your sister or her friends.”
“But Mom, I was never as moody as Pidge.” Matt said as he stuffed his face.
Mrs. Holt scuffed but left the comment alone. Katie finished eating a grabbed her bookbag from behind the couch. Walking out the door behind Matt, Pidge got into the passenger side of the car. Matt looked over at her as they drove. “You know I has just picking at you, right?”
Pidge looked away from the window to look her brother. “I know, besides Keith is your bestfriends brother. That has to count for something.”
“True but he isn’t like his brother. Shiro plays sports and talks to people. Keith just sits alone and has his earbuds in all the time. Like what does he even listen too?”
“My Chemical Romance, Twenty One Pilots, One Republic, Fall Out Boy, some other bands.” Matt looked at his sister in shock.
“How do you know all that?”
“When we hang out we mostly listen to music.” Pidge shrugged.
Matt looked back at the road. “You sure do spend a lot of time with him, yet you never had him over before.”
Pidge looked out the window. “Well you were friends with Shiro for awhile before you invited him over.”
“True but it was only a few months, not nearly a year. You should invite him for dinner tonight.” Matt pulled into the school parking lot.
Pidge blushed, “I’ll ask but there’s no guarantees.” They got out of the car and walked into the school. They had only walked a little ways when Shiro came up to them with a trailing Keith.
“Hey. How was your morning.” Shiro asked.
“It was fine.” And before Pidge could stop him, Matt spoke. “So do you think you could come over tonight?”
Katie was mortified and so much so that she was frozen still. “Yeah, as long as Keith can come over to. Our parents our out of town for the next few days.” Shiro explained.
Matt looked over at Pidge with a huge grin before turning back to his friend. “That works, I’m sure Mom would love to meet your brother.”
Then before Pidge could try and interject the two older boys walked off leaving Keith and her alone.
“What was that about?” Keith asked once they were gone.
Pidge groaned. “I’m not even totally sure. But if you want to try and convince Shiro that you don’t want to go I’ll understand.”
“Nah, I don’t really care, besides I have never got to see your room.” Pidge groaned again and Keith just smiled at her. They leaned against a set of lockers. Pidge set down her bookbag and pulled out the omelette.
“I saved you this.” Keith took the omelette from her outstretched hands.
“Don’t suppose you brought a fork that I could eat this with.” Pidge actually had the foresight to bring one and handed it to him. As he eat she told him about the new video game she wanted. The bell rung just as Keith gave Pidge back the container.
“Well who knows maybe you will get enough money to buy it.”
“Yeah maybe.”
“See ya.” Keith said as they reached Pidges class room.
“Bye.”
