Summary

You ventured out into the cold, icy night. Fear and despair caught you and caressed your body. Guilt and horror gnawed at your conscience You tried to block out the last hour or so....... Shame and fury jabbed at your heart. “What am I becoming ?” Thoughts with no end and no beginning ran through your mind. Yet at the same time, a happiness and excitement filled your twisted soul. For tonight had not been completely useless. Getting dirty with blood and sweat hadn’t been worthless. “But murder is slowly killing me” Killing sent a dart though your heart but the smell of blood make your adrenaline flow. Slowly you got used to killing and the pain it brought. After all if the death of Marie Jackson was going to stay a mystery many new mysteries were going to happen.

Chapter 1

Running a flower shop isn’t hard right? Unless you have a dirty secret. And someone has to be eliminated.

“Ding” The bell on the door chimed

You quickly adorned your face with a charming smile. The client went around touching every rose, tulip, lily, orchid, and petunia. The shop smelled good of freshly bloomed flowers. The bright flowers popped in contrast with the white walls. The tall flower fridges stood gleaming in the mid-afternoon sun. Laughter filled the air from nearby houses. Music ran softly inside the shop. The soft breeze licked and ruffled the petals. The flowers were lightly drenched in a slight mist. They were growing tall and green forevermore. Looking as perfect as ever.

“Ahem” the lady coughed fakely

“How may I help you” You asked while smiling cordially.

“I was wondering...if you … by any chance… sold funeral arrangements” She asked

You felt the smile slipping from your face. It was very, very rare to for someone to talk about funerals with a crazed smile like the one she plastered on her face.

“ Yes, in fact, we do, right this way…” You heard yourself answering.

Slowly you got used to killing and the pain it brought. After all, if the death of Marie Jackson was going to stay a mystery many new mysteries were going to happen. Marie Jackson had been, let us say an amusing woman. Marie’s idea of a good time was toying with a man’s heart, emptying out their wallets and drinking wine. Then she met you. She tried to grab your affection you played along and killed her when she passed the line. Done. That simple. No need for fussy little breakup songs. Everyone was overrated, they tried to live off failures. You tried to live off success and dispose of failures. “They hurt me, I kill them… if anyone dares to hurt me I WILL eventually kill them”, you thought triumphantly. “That lady… The one in the shop today... She knew... she knew it was her last day... She knew I would kill her…”

Would have liked more developed side characters, like Sydney, Marina and Faye, but that might be done in book 2.There are a few small typos but those can be easily fixed. Overal, nicely done a...
