It was a centuries-old tale, how to close the Gates of Hell. The prophecy was translated from the demon tablet by God’s scribe because he wanted to lock Lucifer down there, of course, he only did part of the prophecy and locked Lucifer in a cage down in Hell.
The prophecy stated that three trials had to be completed to close the Gate of Hell.
Bathe in the blood of a hellhound.
Hellhounds were basically companions of the demons, lived with them under their control. Almost like dogs and humans. They were sent to collect unwilling people’s souls who had made deals with demons a decade earlier to come into money, bring someone back to life or something other than that would be nearly impossible. Did I mention they were invisible?
Travel to Hell and rescue an innocent soul and deliver them to Heaven.
This one was probably the hardest. I’d have to find the door to Purgatory in order to get into Hell undetected. Getting back would be even tougher; I’d also have to find an innocent soul to rescue. I didn’t know where my parents’ souls went.
Cure a demon.
You’re supposed to confess your sins to purify yourself and then inject your human blood into a demon over the course of eight hours and then place your own bloody hand over the demon’s mouth and he’d be cured. Enochian spells were supposed to be recited after each injection.
These trials were difficult and could possibly kill me. But I was basically quickening the inevitable. I was supposed to die in five years anyway. Not that Tom, Raymond or anybody else knew.
