Shoot for the Moon

I shoot for the moon

To only miss the stars

I climb so high

For it only to be bizarre

Wishing is fool’s gold

Whilst hope is told

I can only dream the impossible

However doesn’t make it real

So I shoot for the stars

Only for gravity to feel

Going so low in zoning out

It doesn’t matter at all

I know that emotions doubt

And my heart falls

Imagining the heart’s desire

For only the events to transpire

Can not ever happen

Even with love in grasp

I shoot for the moon

To only miss the planets

I dance so high

For everything to connect

Oh, I shoot for the moon

For only to miss you

Raining inside dreams

Life isn’t what it seems

Just to drown away

Hate though begins to sway

Lonely in space

With friendships in trace

Along with comets of chase

Moths and owls dine

Moon is alone just fine

Only for me to shoot to it

Just as orbs become lit

My insanity isn’t beautiful

Lost in found hope

I don’t even have time to mope

Stars and moon won’t be

Partners to flee

Come towards me

Just to say they dream

I shoot for the moon

To only miss the stars

For only to be bizarre

Wishing is fool’s gold

Whilst hope is told

I can only dream the impossible

However doesn’t make it real

So I shoot for the stars

Only for gravity to feel

Only for gravity to feel

Only for my sanity to keel inside

Just to shoot for outer space
