Sometimes an 18 inch journey is the longest journey in the world.
You know something abstractly, in your brain
You know you should do something,
Or stop doing something.
You should not let people use you.
You should not be their door mat.
You should not go to far.
When the man who asked you to go an extra mile says stop
Maybe you should.
But you go further and sometimes are abusive when you do.
You go further and abuse yourself.
You go further and abuse your family.
You go further and abuse your friends.
You knew you should not have done it.
But sometimes an 18 inch journey,
From your brain to your heart,
Is the longest journey in the world.
