Dragon Soul
The fiery spirit sleeps in the dark
It surrounds itself with dripping water
And decaying rock
It makes meals of echoes
And grows strong on the sustenance of long memories
The fiery spirit glows as an ember
The last yellow coal of a forgotten blaze
The starlight spark of a sword on an anvil
It tumbles from the hearth
It skips across the forge
It eats up the careless waste and is renewed
The fiery spirit cannot be extinguished
It drinks down the rain
And the water boils in its throat
It expels the smoke from indignant nostrils
And spits mist in the faces of lesser creatures
