My first rule in life is:

I don’t do what the company says

.

That’s probably why I was fired today under this chilly September weather. Today the weather is particularly cold, that’s why I’m glad the company fired me, so that I am feeling all warm inside! How sweet of them.

But honestly? No. I don’t feel good at all like, heck. Not at all. Losing my job means I am going to be very broke, and being broke means I can’t afford foods. That’s nightmare. I mean, I am always broke throughout the year, but this time I’m going to be broke². At the same time, I just couldn't stand seeing how they treat their employees. They cut salary without giving second thought, they don't give medications help for sick employees.

That was hell, but losing a job is also hell. It's like going out of a layer of hell only going to the upper layer, but still hell.

So here I am, walking aimlessly near a train track, kicking pebbles on my way.

And just when I was lost in my reverie, a little thing just had to break my mourning session by bumping against my leg. Wow, how very wonderful day.

I look down to where I feel the impact, a little girl is staring back at me and mouths, "Sorry, uncle," and runs away to wherever she wants to.

I see his figure getting smaller and smaller as she disappears amidst of the buildings. I heave a sigh and just after taking first step, the tip of my shoe bumps into something now. I look down (again) but this time, it's not another tiny living creature. It's a pink notebook, with a cute white flower drawn on the cover.

"Huh? Did she drop this?" I pick up the book, turning examining back and front, opening the first page.

This diary belongs to:

Byun Mirae!

"So her name is Byun Mirae, huh?" I laugh to myself at the bubbly handwriting. There are so much happening today that I have mixed feelings about it. "One day if ever we met again, I should give this back to her."

But of course not before I flip through a few pages of it. It's privacy invasion, Byun Mirae, please forgive me.
