Chapter 1

It was annoying to many other students hearing Mr. Turner talk for the whole forty minutes of class. To me, it was interesting because the stories he would tell us about his life when he was a teen are pretty fascinating. You'd be surprised by the things he would tell us, it's definitely not like that anymore. Mr. Turner mentioned to us how you are able to smoke in the school bathrooms. Also how he wasn't a good kid in high school, he would tell the teacher he'll be back in a few minutes while he goes outside to smoke; but he actually really left the school to go home. After that, he told us he stopped that habit because he was going to get kicked out of school. His parents started to tell him he had to stop his bad habits and handle things more maturely. And he has because now he's a health teacher for seniors in high school. I can't imagine smoking. My dad does it frequently but mainly not in front of me or my mom because he knows I don't like it and doesn't want her to know but doesn't mean he will quit it. Also, she probably does know because it sticks to your clothes but every time she brings it up my dad says it's from visiting his dad who still smokes.

The clock reads twelve forty-nine pm. The period was going to end any minute now. At the end of the period, Mr. Turner always puts the homework assignment on the board at the last minute. It would make many students groan when all they would like to do is rush out of the class when the bell rings. Some already put their notebooks away but now have to take them back out. They could take pictures of it but Mr. Turner gives you detention if he sees your phone out, so no one dares to try it. I open my notebook and write down the assignment he writes. He writes sloppy and super slow so I start to shake my leg as he's taking way to long. Not only that he's blocking what he wrote on top, but this guy also has to learn to write neater and bigger. Finally, he puts the marker down and moves to the side. I write down the rest and hear the bell ring. I open my book bag and shove my notebook in there along with my pencil and walk out of the classroom.

I walk down the hall holding onto the straps of my book bag. The school day was almost over as there were just two periods left. There was also a break coming up, Christmas break. My thoughts slip away as someone throws their arm over my shoulder with a rush almost knocking me down.

"Wayne, can you slow down there?" I told my best friend as I turned my head toward him. He had a grin on his face and gave me a wink.

"Your girl left me tickets to see my favorite hockey team! How great is she?" Wayne mentioned with a huge smile. I totally forgot we were doing secret Santa, my girlfriend and our group of friends.

"Hey, hold your horses. But I know she's amazing but how'd you know they were from her?" I questioned turning down the right hallway walking to my locker.

"Because I asked all of our friends and they all said no so I couldn't find you but then I found Alice and she admitted she was my secret Santa," he explained then reached into his book bag. I reached my locker and started spinning my combination. Wayne was admiring his tickets and even started smelling them. He must really love that hockey team. As I open my locker I see a box with a bow on top. If Alice wasn't my secret Santa I wonder who was.

"What is it?" asked Wayne looking in my locker.

"I didn't open it yet, let me check," I mentioned, I grabbed the box and opened it then put the top in my locker. There was tissue paper so I took it out and it fell to the floor. When I got a hold of the present I saw it was a 3D crystal of me and Alice on our one year Anniversary. Alice and I have been together since the beginning of Junior year. We met on the first day as we became partners for the first day of school project. We instantly clicked and went on dates till the second one I asked her to be my girlfriend. She was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen with her brown shoulder length hair, brown eyes, pearly white smile, and innocent, fun, kind, funny personality. There was no way in hell I would ever leave her. I loved her too much.

"Awww, look at you blushing Mr.!!!" Wayne joked nudging me on the shoulder.

I roll my eyes jokingly, "Shut up, Wayne,"

When I put the present back in the box I close my locker as Wayne and I head to the lunch room. We see our friends and my girlfriend. I smile then walk quicker, when I'm behind her I whisper in her ear,

"Hello," I say in a deep voice. Alice jumps and turns and sees me.

"David! I hate when you do that, you always sneak up on me." She said holding her chest.

"I know, it's so cute seeing you jump." I laugh then kiss her lips. When I pull away I sit next to her and put my arm around her. She rests her head on my shoulder then I kiss the top of her head.

"Hey love bird David, did you leave me a journal in my locker as secret Santa?" Lizzy asks holding out the journal in front of her. Her left eyebrow is raised as her lips are pursed.

"Yeah, I did. I always hear you say you never have anything to write whatever you think in that head of yours down so I gave you a journal. It even has little quizzes too." I point out with a smile. Lizzy flips the book her way and opens it then flips a few pages.

Lizzy gasped, "Oh! How did I not see this? I love it, David, thanks!" She says practically screaming.

I just nod my head. Lizzy was the loud one in the group. She would always get picked on by Jerry the jokester of the group. Carter, on the other hand, was the quiet one, and Wayne was the life of the party. He would like to throw parties almost every weekend that's if his parents would go away for the weekend because of their jobs. Going back to Carter; he and I are on the basketball team. I got him into it the game when he would come over my house and I would challenge him one-to-one games. Carter would get better and better every time I would train him. When he tried out for the team he made it and we practice together nearly every day after school.

"Hey guys, sorry I'm late. Well, I'm not but I'm here now." Claire mentioned sitting in between Carter and Lizzy. Claire is Alice's best friend. They met way long before I met Alice. I knew when I first got together with Alice, Claire wasn't sure about me. But thankfully, Alice told her how she feels about me and I rubbed off on Claire so she liked me for her best friend. It was a good thing because even if she didn't like me, I would still be with Alice anyways, I loved her too much to have to leave her.

"So, did you like my gift David?" Claire questioned drinking her chocolate milk from the cafeteria.

I had a blank expression on my face until it came to me; the secret Santa gift. "That was from you? Oh, yes I loved it, Claire. Thank you." I said with a smile. Claire smiled and shifted in her seat and moved her shoulders back telling she's proud of herself. Alice turned her head to me.

"What was it?" She mumbled to me as the corner of her lips was curling up.

"Why don't I just show you?" I grin, she smiles and nods her head. We grab our bags then head out of the cafeteria. As we're not toward the exit yet, I can still hear our group of friends chatting.

"All right, so who got me deodorant? Is someone trying to tell me something?" I hear Jerry call out spreading his arms out.

Alice giggles, "That was Lizzy." She whispers to me. Together we laugh and walk out of the lunchroom.

We make it to my locker and I tell her to close her eyes. As I put my combination I open my locker then take out the present. When I open it I hold it out in my hands.

"Okay, you can open them now."

She moves her hands away from her face, her smile fades but in a good way.

"Is that us? On-"

"On our one year Anniversary? Yes, it is." I grin from ear to ear. She holds her heart with both of her hands.

"Wow, who would've guessed Claire would go through all the trouble to get a picture of us and do this. Oh my god, it's so beautiful." Alice observes, she takes it out of my hands and holds it. Alice looks up at me, she holds the 3D crystal in one hand and puts her other hand on my cheek cupping it. She goes on her toes and leans in to kiss me. I always adored when she kissed me first, her lips were so soft and tasted like strawberry chopstick. I put my hand on her hips to bring her closer. We kissed some more till we jumped when someone was shouting at us.

"Hey! You two go back to where you came from, stop making out in the halls!" Ms. Helen yelled at the two of us. Ms. Helen walked away back into her classroom and slammed her door shut.

Alice and I turned back to each other and laughed, "Did I bite your lip?" She asked looking at my lip.

I chuckle rubbing it, "A little but it's okay."

"Here, take the Crystal before someone else makes me jump and I drop it," she commented handing me handing it to me. I took it putting it in the box, then I closed my locker. I was still looking at my locker, I didn't want to go back to lunch yet. I still wanted to be alone with Alice since I had to go straight to basketball practice after school. I turned around to Alice whose arms were crossed and she was looking around the hall with wondering eyes.

"Hey, do you want to go to the janitors closet?"

She gave me a weird look, her eyebrows furrowed and lips parted. "What?" she chuckled, "What for- Oh. Oh... Because Ms. Helen interrupted us? Oh, I see your little game, Mr. Lee." She taunts me with one eyebrow raised poking my chest. She steps on her tippy toes again circling me trying to act taller than me and act like the boss. I looked down with a smirk, after being together for so long, we still had the hots for each other, as if we had just met. Alice stopped circling me then walked toward the opposite side of the hallway. She turned her head around, "You coming?" She smirked.

I looked up from the ground, Alice had the biggest cheesiest smile on her face. Man, I loved this girl so damn much; sometimes I thought my heart might explode. I walked beside her and brought her hand in mine. Together we walked to the janitors closet. It wasn't the most romantic spot but it was the only one where we possibly wouldn't get caught or interrupted by the janitor. He would always be in the lunch room waiting for the period to end to clean up so he wouldn't have to stay after school to clean it up.

We made it to the second floor, she poked her head in while we were still in hand in hand behind the door. She checked left and right to make sure no one was around, especially a teacher or worse the Principal. After she finished checking she turned to me and giggled, Alice, gripped my hand tighter and started running to the janitors closet. We slipped in and she locked it behind her then turned back to me.

She pushed me up against the wall and stood on her toes smacking her lips to mine. I titled my head to the left to get better access. I held onto her hips as she buried her hands into my thick dark brown hair. My heart was racing so fast as if there's a chance she'll be able to hear it. Alice had the softest lips in the world, she normally wore lipstick but today she wore strawberry chopstick; it's kind of a good thing because we definitely would've gotten caught with her lipstick all over my face. She traced her hands down to my chest unbuttoning my shirt. I broke the kiss then looked down at her as she unhooked the last button. She started to kiss my chest then found her way back to my lips. Alice drove me insane. I let out a soft moan between our kiss. My hands made their way down to the back of her thighs and she jumped and wrapped her legs around me. I had her in my arms and I turned around to pin her to the wall till I almost fell tripping over something on the floor.

Alice let out a laugh, "Clumsy much?" she grinned. I shook my head with a grin and kissed her again pinning her to the wall when I got my balance back. With her legs still wrapped around me, Alice threw her arms around my neck deepening the kiss pulling me closer. My lips moved to her jaw then to her neck, I buried my face in her neck and it caused Alice to let out a few moans as she clawed at my back. I didn't mind the scratches no one would see them beside her and me.

"Dave," Alice groaned. That was a nickname mainly only she called me; everyone else called me by my full name David. I tried to move my head back to kiss her lips but she grabbed my face moving it back to her neck. My hands made their way to her bum as I rested them there. Alice was breathing heavily, I can feel her breath on my shoulder. At this moment I never wanted it to end it still amazes me how you can love someone so much and can't imagine doing this with anyone else. She was the only girl in my eyes, and I know I was the only guy in hers.

I stopped kissing her neck when we heard shouting. Still holding onto her and her legs wrapped around me we both turned to the door.

"That sounded like Principal, Weber." Alice breathed out her chest moving up and down.

"Yeah, crap we better get out of here." I breathed out. I put her down gently, I figured I should go out first and distract Mr. Weber. "I'll go out first," I mentioned to her. Alice saw me heading for the door then grabbed my arm.

"Small problem," She whispered to my unbuttoned shirt.

I looked down and chuckle, "Oh right, that definitely would have given it away."

Alice bit her bottom lip holding back a laugh. I finished buttoning up my shirt then leaned in and kissed her cheek. I then headed for the door then gave her a wink. Then I opened it, when I walked out I saw Mr. Weber with his fat arms crossed and his daily angry facial expression.

"You! What are you doing in the janitors closet? Where are you supposed to be?" He shouted with his hands on his hips.

I looked around trying to act dumb, "Me?" I asked pointing to myself.

He sighed deeply, "Yes, you,"

"Oh, I got lost, I didn't know where my next class was so I hid in the janitor's office."

"You got lost? It's the fourth month of the school year! Here come on kid let's go." he said walking up to me. I led him to the opposite direction so Alice can walk out of the janitor's room without getting caught.

"Where are you supposed to be?" He asked looking straight ahead with his arms out.

"Lunch," I answered.

"Lunch! How can you not want to be in lunch, eating! There must've been something more exciting than food."

"Oh, yes there was Mr. Weber, yes there was."
