Dear Father,
As a father, you have failed,
As a Christian, you have lied;
Long ago before you knew,
In my mind, you have died.
Daily thoughts cross my mind
Only then I’ll see;
I don’t love you for you yourself,
I love who you’re supposed to be.
I’ve repeatedly tried
To understand why;
In the end, there’s no excuse
For your unforgettable lie.
You may have pushed me down,
You may have put me through hell,
But I always stood up stronger than before;
I’ve come out with a story to tell.
As a father, you have failed,
But you’ve taught me good things;
Now I stand stronger than ever,
In hope for what the future brings.
