Chapter 1

"Reyna, your Mother gave you that name for a reason. Reyna means peaceful queen. She whished for you to become just that. But to become a queen, you have to be wise, strong and thoughtful. Full of wit to be on top of your adversary.

Do you want to fulfil your mother's biggest wish for you? Mind you my little princess, it will be a journey of hardships and pain. You will cry and you will scream, curse me and your decision. Your life will be filled with struggle to hang on. Will you, my little princess, live the hardest of life's to fullfill your mother's wish and one day be worthy of the title queen?"

"Yes father. I want to fulfil that wish. I will go through those hardships. I will do everything to make my mother up above proud and smile. So one day I can stand in front of her and say 'yes mother, I fulfilled the destiny you gave me.'"

"Okay my little princess. I hope you won't regret your desicion."

"No father, I won't!"

And I never did.

At the age of five, I thought I knew what I had signed up for. But I only got the gist of it.

To say my life was hell would be an overstatement. It was hard, very hard, after all I was a normal human being, a normal girl.

My father taught me everything he knew. Every technique, every spiel. He was a special agent in the army and if he was away on business, which was often, I trained on my own or went to fight gyms. After his insistence I took on rhythmic gymnastics in school, saying one day it would come in handy.

Well it was fun and I got to know my one and only best friend, Thalia.

She understood what it meant to work hard without a break to realise your goal. She too had a strict schedule without time for friends or playing around. Her goal was her priority and she did everything in her might to reach it.

Top scores was phase one for the both of us. While I honed my body's skills with fighting and training, she got to work on accumulating a heap of money. She worked high paying part time jobs for the most promising enterprises. Her resume would land her closer to her goal.

If she had some spare time and my father was home, she would join us while he taught me about war tactics and so on. He could always project those tactics to every day situations.

He taught Thalia and me how to behave in case of being kidnapped. That was Thalias favorite subject, after all one day she would be rich and famous for her achievements.

"So you lifesaver, heard tomorrow is your day off. Let's go out and have some fun."

"Thalia, you know I don't like getting drunk and being stared at like I'm a piece of meat in the supermarket."

Thalia laughed and leaned back on my sofa while I flopped down beside her.

"Oh Rey sweets, you don't have to drink and you can simply turn the table. Check them out. It would do you good to get a guy."

"Just turn the table, it isn't that easy Thai." Ignoring the comment about the guy I handed her the food container.

"It is that easy. It is pure bliss to let those over confident guys know, they are just a piece of meat and pawns in my hands. To let them know, that I reign and they are at my back and call." She popped the container open, taking in the wonderful smell of the Chinese food, then turned to me with a satisfied grin. "Thanks, you know what I love. Well and I know that wouldn't do for you. You need a guy who can take you head on, is on par with you about strength and wit. It won't be easy finding someone like that Rey. Not easy at all. Almost sounds like a fairytale prince."

We both burst out laughing.

"Yeah right as if. I would like a sweet guy, not one of those Bulldogs. Just a gentleman. Someone who would respect me. It would be a bonus if he liked doing sports."

"I would like a sweet guy." Thalia copied my voice. "Rey, you don't need someone who treats you like a princess, your goal is to be a fucking queen! So don't step back from this goal because of a guy. You need someone headstrong you can fight with, but who would lay the world at your feet if you so much as wished that."

"Well someone like that I won't find drunk in a bar."

"You,my girl," she pointed her fork at me before stuffing more noodles in her perfectly painted mouth, "don't know that."

"Nope, that won't get me to come along so you can pick a random guy to satisfy your carnal needs." I laughed opening my container full of Chinese noodles.

Thalia pouted for a few seconds, shrugged her shoulders and resumed eating with inhumane vigor.

If anyone else who knew Thalia from work or other places saw her right now, their jaw would have dropped off the earth.

To the world outside she was the most proper and well behaved woman there was. A real Miss perfect. Dressed sexily but at the same time proper, hair and make-up styled to a T. In her job one of the best newcomer lawyers, sometimes she could be scary but never messy.

But sitting on my sofa was not Thalia D'Dir the perfect lawyer but Thalia my best friend.

Her skirt was hiked up so she could sit crosslegged not caring what one could see underneath, wolfing down her beloved Chinese noodles I knew she would kill for.

She looked up at me grinning. "What's going on in that head of yours?"

"Just wondering how you can keep this side of you a secret."

Thalia put her empty container down, looking longingly at its non existent content.

"Well, this side is exclusively for the people I trust and would put my life on the line for. You know there arn't a lot of people that fit in this category and i know those people would never talk about this side of me to the media."

"Well that means we can never stop being like this, because i know enough about you to ruin you."

"Is that a threat?" Thalia glared at me, her eyes cold as ice and sharper than any knife.

We burst out laughing again.

"You should have become a mob Boss, not a lawyer."

"Well sweets, at the end of the day, it's the same."
