In a corrupt-but-functioning world crawling with supernatural beings, it is near impossible to successfully prove your worth. You are not special. You are not unique. Nobody cares about you anymore. Nobody is impressed by what you can do, there is no entertainment or excitement surrounding your powers.
That is why the Elimination Games were set up. A brutal competition of strength, both physically, mentally and spiritually. You have to prove yourself powerful in response to any type of approach.
He or she who is picked to compete in the games is completely random. Every year, once you reach 18 years old, your name is put into the raffle, once you reach the age of 25, your name is taken out. Every year the raffle containing your country’s eligible contestants is spun and an unlucky name is drawn. That person has to represent their country in the games.
There is no way for anyone to train or prepare themselves for the hardships they would face, well, that’s a lie, but when you are one out of hundreds of thousands, people hope the odds would be in their favour. That’s why the Elimination Games are so terrifying, that’s also why she is not afraid because she’s stronger than them and they have no idea. They are the ones that should be afraid.
