Fear

I was shaking. I was sprinting. I was petrified. My heart jumped from my feeble chest, head racing with harsh thoughts. I feared the beasts behind me. Growls boomed throughout the frightening forest. Suddenly I collapsed. Exhaustion was invading my body, limb by limb. No; I must fight it! I... must... fight it.

So cold! I was laying on my back upon a solid, concrete floor. In a sudden motion, I jolted upright, remembering the most recent events. Why? Why did Alpha Adam have to capture me again? What does he want from me? I began to break down into tears.

“ What do you want with me, Adam? Why are you so desperate to keep me locked up, to hurt me?” I whined, partially allowing my inner-wolf to emerge.

I jumped out of my fur when a husky, unfamiliar voice replied, “Who? Who is this Adam you speak of? Who are you?” My breathing became heavier, revealing my immense fear. I didn’t dare speak a word. The figure must have noticed how weak and confused I was as he walked towards me, speaking in a caring, sympathetic voice,”I’m not here to harm you. I just need to know who you are.”

As if hypnotised, I answered, "M-my name is Lexa. I’m seventeen. I think so at least. My Alpha is- was Adam Powermoon. Please don’t send me back there. Don’t send me to him.” There was so much fear and worry in my voice- once more, I began to whimper, giving Mara (who is my inner-wolf) the opportunity to break through and take control. She released a defeating howl, informing him that it was no longer the scared little Lexa but her fearless, ruthless wolf taking control. She was furious and would not let her kidnapper bring her down easily. I could no longer see or hear what she was doing but knew it was horrifying. I knew that his pack was not likely to survive.
