nightmares
starting off with some fluff
—————————————————————
Sam had been having nightmares lately about Jess. They were the same every night, dreaming of that night...the night she died...
Of course Sam missed her a lot, she was his girlfriend. But he had an amazing brother to help him, and hunting to keep his mind off of it, for awhile at least.
This was one of the nights, he was tossing and turning all night long although he should've been sleeping due to this being a rare night to sleep since him and Dean never got to rest.
His eyes stared at the ceiling with a huff in annoyance, all he could hear was Dean's light snoring.
He sighed as he stood, hating to do what he was about to do.
Sam shuffled over to his older brother's bed, sliding under the covers with him.
Dean stirred and groaned as his eyes slowly opened to look over at the tall male.
"You okay, Sammy?" He asked, concern heard in his groggy voice, along with the hint of tiredness.
All Sam did was nod and responded with a lame excuse that Dean obviously wouldn't buy. "Yeah, these crappy motel beds are just really uncomfortable..."
Dean rolled his eyes, his arms wrapping protectively around his brother, placing a small kiss to his forehead. Even if Dean was never a fan for romance or anything remotely loving, he wanted to show his brother that he cared for him and he was there no matter what.
"Don't bullshit me, Sam." Dean said in a more strict voice, it going soft once more. "Was it Jess?"
Sam only nodded once, knowing that Dean would've known anyways.
"Yeah..." He mumbled, running his fingers through the other's hair. He sighed and shut his eyes.
Sam always felt safe and comforted in Dean's arms, and with that, he began drifting off to sleep.
"Goodnight, Sammy...I love you." Came Dean's voice.
"I love you too..."

Sorry that this is so short! This is from my wattpad so I’m just uploading it here from there! If you’d like to follow me on there—it’s the same username as this!

This was incredibly immersive, it felt like a movie playing in my head.
I kept imagining it as a visual story, especially in a comic format.
I work with visual storytelling myself, and this piece really inspired me.
I’d love to chat more about it sometime if you’re open to that.
