Make it uniquely identical

Write about your truth and the audience will flock to you

Focus on your real human experience and express it to others

Let them know how different you are from them in a way that screams deviance

Don’t make it special

make it simple

make it confusing

Make sure your words captivate them

that your performance is life changing

But let them know that you are refusing to buy into their manufactured social normalities

The only way to be unique is to be yourself

Living a life 7 billion other people are living themselves

Tell them about YOUR God

And how he speaks to YOU

Tell them about your redemption from a curse you never knew

Teach them how to make the horrific experience of human life pretty

How to ignore the hyper-awareness they have of our collective reality

An Artist has to be everything

A teacher

a role model

a boundary pusher

a performer

But the hardest thing an artist will ever have to be is an individual

The quest of learning how to take a life that’s all your own

but is bought by the masses

and turn it into comedy or drama or a story that people will want to read

Finding a way of self expression that has never been done before

but in doing that following the exact footsteps of the people

who have had this same struggle

Countless times before you

Make it unique

Follow their patterns

Make it appealing

And different

And new

Make something worth reading

But make sure your work is something that anyone could do
