The Direwolves Gang

It was the early days of summer in the midlands in old Germany. A young boy the age of 17 years was off on his own without a family ran around with a very particular group of boys. With the like of Ortwin, who is the brains of the group, then there is Adalbern, a strong boy who offend the tough guy within their group of misfits. And finally there was Badulf offend taking up the leadership position of the whole gang. As normal as they seem. They were far from it. They weren’t just the typical band of delinquents, but also they hold a very intense secret. As they were all heartless. Now those unfamiliar with heartless. Here a quick history lesson. Heartless are beings born to hunt the supernatural. Like werewolves and orcs. They can be identified by there heart shape birth mark on their chest which lights up and giving them a slight sing to alert them to creatures of the night and they are also immune to the bites of said creatures preventing them from coming one themselves.

With this in mind the boys option to use this gift as a mean of profit. Which the four them go on the search for these creatures. And agree to hunt them for the innocents for a profit. Such was the case as this one. As Zeit Helwig was the newest addition he was still learning the ropes. As he was hire as the group sort of bait. In which he would be the sleeping in the bed as the others wait for the Mare. A Mare was creature who would sit on someone chest as they sleep and give them horrible nightmares and then feeding on those negative emotions the person emits from the dreams. As he waited in bed pretending to sleep. While the others hid in a nearby closet. With Adalbern was under the bed. Ready to activate the trap. Just then as the clock struck 2. A looming breeze hit the room. Making it awfully cold. As Helwig was in fear knowing well that creature has come. As his face was hidden beneath the covers. He felt the creature leap on the bed. Crawling on his body as get closer to his face. Adalbern look to the closet and seeing the others. As they peer out. He then nod his head to signal it was time to go. As the boys pop out from their spots. Adalbern then unleash his trap. Which Zeit Helwig then push the Mare aside jumping out of the bed. As a large cage lower down. Catching the hideous being inside. Ortwin then handed Zeit Helwig the torch as it was the thing that could kill the creature. This was part of his initiation process. Being bait and killing the monster. He then lit the creature on fire. As it scream in pain before it turn to ash. Thus ending other successful job for them. By morning the town folks have given them their gold. And the group was off again hearing about another daring case in the form of a Griffin.

As they head west. Upon traveling they have gotten word of the King of Camelot was there with his son Idris. And that his son was taken by the Griffin. Now the group more determine then ever to hunt the Griffin. As it would mean a great big pay day sense it was a king’s son. So they hurry into the lands. Hearing from all the villagers that the creature has settle in the mountains. But any heartless that attempt to go up there has all been greeted by the same fate. Which is death. They were still determine to do the job. As it would be a great pay day. As they climb the mountains. Zeit Helwig had to carry all the supplies as he was still the fresh meat. They finally reach the top in a few hours. Making camp on peak of mountains waiting to see if the beasty make it appearance. The three boys build a fire. Helwig went off to go have a look around to see he could find any clues. But it seem pretty cold. Until he finally found it on ridge of the peak with it nest. He hid behind some rocks. As he spied in. And he could see the small boy that was taken. So he went back to boys and alerting them of the Griffin. They all get up with money on their mind. Rushing in without realizing all the ruckus they made.

Upon hearing noises they are spotted by the Griffin. And seeing the king’s son. So without hesitation three of the boys step up to confront it without a plan. And are immediately knock back into a near by wall. With only Zeit Helwig staying back. As he snuck over to free the king’s son. But the Griffin spots him and running with sharp claws ready to hunt. As it grab both him and the prince. With them both wist in the air. High above the sky. Flying high over the town. Pulling out a blade from pocket. Helwig stab the beast with the hidden blade causing the creature to fly low. Making it go down and dropping them both. Quickly they hid, but the creature had their scent. Running at them as they stood hiding behind wooden wall. Smashing it hand in the wood trying to grab them. So Zeit Helwig then stab it in the hand once more. As it yelp in pain. It pull it’s hand back. He then get on top of it and stab in the neck taking it down until he was able to find fire and lit it on fire. Ending it for good as it burst into ash. With the fight over.

It wasn’t long for the news to break. With the coming days. Zeit Helwig was rewarded by King Amr as the newest knight of the round table for his bravery and saving the king’s son. Upon the ceremony he is approach by his gang. With them jokily saying he learn from the best. They shared a laugh and said that he’ll need help with his lands. Offering them a honest pay rather then running around like delinquents. With them agreeing that he’ll need them or else he pretty helpless. They jokily said. Now all can see that it take learning the ropes in which you can achieve something great beyond anything you imagine. Even it seem like something foolish to know. You just never know when a small piece of knowledge just might come in handy....
