"This is not my usual type of novel and at first I wasnāt sure whether I was going to enjoy it. The male character was somewhat too strong. However, as I read on and realised the situation, I felt this was the character that the book needed. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would still like to see the female lead developing in the next book in the series (hint, hint)"
Not your typical apocalyptic book!
"I'm about half way through this book so far and I'm finding that it's one of those stories that makes you really stop and think about how you'd handke a situation like this. Early on, I thought I knew where it was going but then, in ways I surely didn't expect, it took another turn and completely caught me off guard. During some scenes, I started to believe it was going to get a bit "dirty" and it even stirred my own emotions a bit. It forced me to think outside of my own comfort zone and truly consider how I'd handle such a situation for the good of all versus my own selfish mind. Would I be able to do what they do? Would I let my emotions decide my future as well as others? As I continued reading, I noticed that, certain events that made me think this was going a bit far or that I thought were silly, really made sense. This isn't your typical, end of the world, everyone is suddenly a master survivalist with the fighting skills of a life long ninja and expertise hunter/gatherer kind of book. It's a much more realistic view of what the end might truly look like and the very different life you could end up living. If you haven't read it, do so. If you started reading it and had an idea that it was going to be "way out there" keep reading, I think you'll be surprised at what you start to see as you go. This author has some other pretty great books as well and you'd be missing out if you didn't read them. His writing style is quite different from most others on here and if you're able to open up your mind, you're in for a treat. I'll come back once I've finished for an update. "

"Another fast-paced post-apocalyptic action-packed adventure from this author. I like the premise and detail of the story. Also we got a bit more of a back-story this time before diving head first into the action, which was good! I personally found it difficult to relate to the characters but that didn't stop me enjoying the story."
