Diary of a Black Sheep That's High on Caffeine

Summary

A collection of experimentation with poetry written by a caffeine addict. Have you ever tried poetry? I mean, seriously, I also always thought poetry is kind of lame. Shakespeare, Wordsworth. Who on earth has time for that? Yet, when you try to take a different approach on poetry, adding a contemporary touch to it, you can very subtly poke fun at how we have evolved as a society, criticize and whine as we often feel the need to, yet look very appropriate while doing so. Besides, it is no longer surprise that a contemporary man might only have pen and paper (or a laptop keyboard and Microsoft Office - whatever floats your boat) to talk to when they really need to. So, all in all, this is a collection of my attempt to write something that at least remotely resemble poetry and add a subtle, modern touch to it.

I Wonder Why (6th April)

I Wonder Why

6th April

I see no world

Beyond my room,

I know no drink

Beyond my soup.

Colors not of

Black and white

I hate.

I sit content believing

In my fate.

There’s no such thing

I can’t complain about

Once a year

When I go out.

For my life is sad,

I bark.

I take such pride

When people talk.

A man’s misfortune

Makes me high.

And yet, I find

I cannot fly.

I wonder – why?

I’m not content

With how I look,

I’m not content

With how I feel.

Therefore, I sneer.

I feel so sad,

I want to cry, cause

No-one loves me.

I wonder – WHY?
