Just a Moment

Lance rests in the sand on a beach not too far from his home. The waves crash against the sand before they are pulled back in; like Lance's heart. He keeps trying to reach or find a sign that maybe...just maybe he'll be alright, but his fear lures him in...his cries for help being drowned. His happiness being lost deep in the ocean...his tears refilling it.

He breathes shakily and buries his fingers deep in the sand. He embraces the wind, which feels like it's trying to carry away his emotions. His pain is just...too strong. He tries so hard to fight the tears, but they fall anyways. He gasps, feeling as if he can't catch his breath and he suffocates.

He feels the world spiraling.

The wind is too strong.

He'll never love again..

A hand his on his shoulder, immediately putting the storm he was in on hold.

"Lance, you okay?"

It's a voice that is normally kept quiet.

It's the voice of someone he once looked up to...

A voice of a rival.

Keith.

---

Lance uses his arm to wipe away his tears and he nods. He wasn't expecting Keith to be there, he was supposed to be on different planets, helping people. He expected Keith to just..walk away like he used to, but instead, he sat down next to Lance. He set one leg in the sand and kept one propped up, resting his elbow on it.

"I thought you were leaving today," Lance says, looking over to Keith.

Keith looks at Lance for a moment before shrugging and looking out to the ocean.

"Yeah..I was going to, just thought I owed some people some goodbyes."

Lance slowly nods and takes in a deep breath.

"I miss her too Lance.." Keith says suddenly.

That's not what Lance wanted to hear...

Of course she's missed.

Why wouldn't she be?

Why?

Lance feels the world spinning. He feels a storm surrounding him.

"Of course you miss her! She deserves to be missed!" Lance cries, obviously angry. A waterfall emerges from his eyes, but there's somehow fire in them too.
