Abouts & Preface...
About the title:
May the light be of any colour, may the object be of any size or shape; shadow is always dark.
Shadow is perceived to be the zone where light doesn’t reach.
But this is so petty. It is not even half the truth.
Shape of the shadow tells us about the shape of the obstacle. Shadow with sharp edge tells us that obstacle has sharp edge; while shadow with curves tells us that the obstacle has curves.
Nature of the shadow tells us about the nature of the source. Sharp shadow is in the intense light. Blurred shadow is when the source of light is long, like a tube light...
A man who lost his way in the dark knows the significance of light; darkness of the shadow beholds the virtue of light.
This book is a journey of a man from shadows of disappointment, anger and revenge to the light of affection, friendship and honesty.
Remember, in our life, we are the shadow, we are the source and we are the obstacle...
About the sub-title:
The problem with most of us is we become what we despise. I hate racist people because they discriminate one human from another. But I do not realize that I am also discriminating a human based on his behavior on racism...
As kids we wanted to make a difference, to the world, to society, to the lives of our loved ones.
But over the years, we have become almost them. And we find ourselves trapped in the very similar cages, almost helpless and hopeless...
Unknowingly, we have just become what we wanted to solve.
Becoming something is the curse; unbecoming is the virtue...
We become teachers, we become scientists, we become poets, we become sportsmen, we become politicians and so on... we subscribe philosophies, ideologies and call ourselves Marxist, socialist or nationalist and so on....
We do not realize that by becoming that, we have put ourselves in the jargon and the freedom is now sacrificed. The will to live freely, then desires to break these bondages, we so often want to leave everything or destroy... marriages get broken, business collapse, associations end, life gives in... This is owing to the need of destruction because existence is losing hope of sanity...
We all live with a terrorist inside of us, keen to destroy every structure we have created to keep us bound with the material world.
By becoming a socialist or nationalist or Buddhist or something else will not give sanity to this angry and passionate one in us; he will try to break every link we connect owing to our greed and desire...
So we curb it; we stop it, at times block it from expressing itself and that makes it more violent.
All kinds of violence are the expression of the vigor of having its say; you allow it some space and it shall express and become calm. Peace is not when violence is curbed. Peace is when violence is given scope and the right place for expression.
This is an attempt to see if the rebellion in a terrorist can be given the right space; where the rebellion will actually contribute for the better....
There is nothing in life with no problem, no issues, and no misery. But we keep living the same hassles and the same routine.
Looking at life without being anything, just witnessing is the only real solution to this problem.
Becoming a rebellion is bound by the injustice in the system; opposing the rebellion is bound by greed and the will to hold the position in the system; none of that is going to change the system in its true form...
The key is, unbecoming. Just be and let things be as they are, don’t change anything, don’t push for anything and you shall see the system as it is.
The system is made by humans. Stand simple and honest and slowly it shall reflect in others behavior and the system shall respond with greater degree of friendship.
When the duality of opposites can’t interest you, when the choice between the opposites appears to be stupid; for by compressing the spring, you are only encouraging it to recoil, then the wisdom dawns upon you and you exist as a simple human being.
This is the art of unbecoming; for you can not become simple, but by undoing what you have become, you realize you were always simple.
Preface:
In Mumbai, when terrorists had attacked on 26 November 2008, the terrorist caught alive, Kasab, had given confession. Another terrorist David Headley gave his statement. These two statements given by the terrorists made a huge different in the fight against terrorism.
Terrorist is a human being; terrorism is a phenomenon.
I think we as humanity should have our focus on eradication of terrorism, not terrorists; just like our medicines heal fever and keep fevered patient alive…
It is time, we, as humanity understands that just by the right space and sanity, most issues get sorted. Healing is always possible if sanity and affection is.
It is possible that the reader might wonder if this is possible in reality. The answer is both yes and no. If you ever stood by your kids in their rough phase; you would have seen how their mistakes gave them strength to bounce back. The same dark sky illuminates as the Sun rises.
We have had naxalites surrender and they only told everyone that their path was wrong. We also had terrorists who had surrendered and given important information to the security agencies. Remember, the cure to a snake’s poison is also a poison.
I would go on to say that the imposition of emergency by Indira Gandhi only underlined the value of democracy. The unjust screams for the significance of the reasonable…
Ever thought of the men who are filled with hate and disgrace in their life? They go to prostitutes and vent out their extreme negativity. Without those women, no woman would be safe on the streets. Dignity of women is upheld by prostitutes who sadly do not have much dignity in our society…
Condemnation isn’t the solution, affection is the right step.
This is an experiment of illustrating the process of transformation of the dark to the luminous...
May the readers judge if it was worth the effort the author has put in....
