1.) High School
It was the two weeks before spring break in Horizon High School. The halls were quiet and the stairs where empty. As Jack Cordian went up to the stairs into the hall, he wondered where everybody was, he had just got there. He walked down the hall looking in all the 9th Grade classrooms to no avail. He proceeded to walk when he remembered that it was Monday.
They always have morning assemblies on Mondays which for him was very annoying because he usually came in late, like today, except today was even worse because he had just dyed his hair a very bright color that made him extra noticeable. Still yet, he began walking to the entrance of where the assembly was being held, a big room with a huge stage to hold all 1,200 people that were in that school. He began to walk in and to his surprise, not many people noticed his hair because he had his hood on and you could only see his brightly colored bangs.
He sat down at the usual place that he likes to sit next to all of his friends. His seat is 3 rows from the back on the very edge with nobody beside him. He doesn’t like people so he preferred this spot over most spots. He had the option to sit anywhere at the beginning of the year. When he sat down his friends that sat next to him definitely noticed his hair, and they loved it! They were talking about how vibrant and colorful it was and how it followed is style.
However, He was the first person in the school to dye his hair. This caused many people to not like it. People all over the school started making a drama about how he must be gay because of his decision to dye his hair. He hadn’t come out yet to his school only to his closest friends that he could trust the most. He did not know what he should say when accused of being gay. Since he was gay he didn’t want to straight up say “No”. Once all the guys started calling him gay he decided to just ignore them. Eventually, the drama passed.
The next day, he was late as always and came into school to notice a very attractive guy that seemed to be a new kid. This was great for Jack since not many new kids ever came to Horizon High School as a new student. Nobody even left the school for that matter. Because it was in a small town. He definitely had a huge crush on him just by looking at him. He wanted to introduce himself but was too nervous. He decided to just stand back and admire him. In fact, he was “admiring” him so much that he didn’t even notice that one of his best friends was trying to talk to him.
After his best friend Emily, tried to get his attention for a while. She looked where he was looking and was surprised to see a new kid had come to the high school. She also notices he was hot and immediately remembered why Jack had such an intense stare at him. “Oh, yea,” She thought as he intently looked at him. “He’s gay I almost forgot” She mumbled underneath her breath. She finally got him to snap out of what seemed to be an endless stare.
“WHAT!” He said with anger.
“Calm down, It’s just me!” She replied with a confused look on her face.
“Oh, Sorry I was zoned out.” He apologized.
“It’s cool, I understand, he is very hot.” She said with enthusiasm.
After talking to her for a while about his looks. And how they are amazed that there is even a new kid in the first place. They continued to their classes that Jack had no friends in. He usually just paid attention and done his work. This also leads people to not notice him at all.
At that point, the new kid finally got his schedule and you could tell. Even from the classroom, you could hear people screaming “Let me see! Let me see!” Very loudly. Jack thought, “He must be popular” While still listening to the people hoping to see that he was in their class. The hallway seemed to be getting calm as everybody got forced to class by the teachers. And out of nowhere in came the new kid! Jack thought, “He is in my class!!!” Throughout the day he desperately tried to ignore the new kid but his eyes seemed to keep wondering toward his way.
Jack thought “This year is going to be challenging from here on.” If only he knew what was in the future for him.
The next day he was late to class as always and sat down where he always sits. This spot was also in the corner away from everybody. He waited for the new kid to come into the class. When everybody got in there he encouraged himself to say hi. After a while, he nervously said “Hi”. The new kid didn’t seem to care he just said “Hi” back.
He still did not know the new kid’s name at this point. However, if the teacher didn’t forget to do attendance today he would find out. He was glad to hear the teacher began to say the student’s name that was in the class and hearing them say “Here!” After a few students, he heard a name he had never heard her say he knew it was him! Then he heard the new kid say “Here!” His name was Jordan Evans.
After class Jordan is walking out and bumps into the most popular girl in school, Chelsea Nunnely.
