Prologue
It was late at night, a young girl in her early 20s named, Andy, was driving on the highway with no traffic and listening to music to keep her awake. As Andy was bumping her head and tapping her hands on the steering wheel on to the beat of the music, she almost crashes into someone.
"SHIT!" Andy shouts while hitting on the breaks. She is breathing heavily as she stares back at the unknown man in front of her. Then the unknown man faints and falls into the ground. Without thinking twice, Andy gets out of her car and runs up to the man. She inhales sharply as she looks at the man and looks both ways of the highway before kneeling down on the right side of the man.
"Please don't be dead, " Andy whispers to herself. She takes a deep breath and checks his pulse on his neck. As she is doing it, Andy closes her eyes and waits. She lets out a sigh of relief as she feels the pulse pumping under her fingers. She takes a step back and takes a good look at the man. The unknown man looks like he has been into a cage match against a gorilla. His clothes, which consisted of dark blue jeans and a black V-neck shirt, are torn and he is also missing a white left shoe.
The man also had cuts on both arms, and on his left cheek, probably infected. And he also has a giant bruise on his right cheek. Andy shook her head and said, "You must have pissed someone off real bad man." And then she tries to wake him up, by shaking him softly.
"Hey…wake up,"
All Andy heard...was the man groaning in pain. Andy stepped back to give him some space. The man starts opening his eyes, looking confused for a second and then looks at Andy. But something unexpected happens, "Cine esti tu?" The man asks in a foreign language. Andy is shocked. She doesn't know what to do or what to say.
Andy just helps the man get up from the floor. The man once again groans in agony and leans against the hood of the car. He is breathing heavily while Andy starts to pace back and forth, thinking of what to do next. Suddenly she stops and takes out her phone from her car to call someone. She dials a number and places it against her right ear. Andy looks at the man, making sure he doesn't pass out. The person she calls answers, in a grumpy tired voice, "Hello?"
"Hey uh I know it's late and I'm sorry but…" Andy says while pulling the man towards her, and to prevent a head injury. "I need your help." Andy pulls her phone away as the person starts scolding her, and then puts it back on her ear, "Like I said, I know it's late so can you please meet me at my house in the next thirty minutes?"
Andy sighs in relief as the person agrees to meet her, she thanks the person and hangs up. She looks at the man and thinks, 'What have I gotten myself into?' And then she grabs the man's left arm, puts it on her shoulders and starts walking to the passenger's side. Andy opens the door and gently places the man down on the passenger seat and helps him put on the seatbelt.
She closes the door and runs to the other side. She opens the door, gets in and puts on her seatbelt with her shaky hands. Andy takes one last look at the man before turning on the engine and driving away.
