The Demon Wolf

•° Chapter One: Welcome Back °•

A few months went by it was nearing winter, which meant it was to snow soon and be freezing cold outside. Now here I sat in my large bedroom in the mansion that my younger siblings lived in, stalling to pack my suitcase. Why? Because I wasn't ready to go back home just yet, I like it here in Montreal, since this is where my brother and sister lived. And it felt right to be with them instead of miles and hours away, but I knew I would have to leave them soon even if it wasn't today. Which I sadly hope it hadn't have been today and I could stay a little bit longer but nope my sister Tessa Pierce had somehow convince me to go back. And now I sit on my bed looking at my closet filled with my clothes and my empty suitcase and shoulder bag.

Sighing, I gotten up from my sitting place and stood in front of my closet after place my suitcase on my bed. I grabbed at different out then tossed them on my bed which I had folded neatly and packed away. Then I went and grabbed my laptop and other small things I would need for the plane ride back home. Once I had finished backing, I went into my bathroom shutting the door behind me. Starting my shower water, I took my hair out of it's messy bun letting my long jet black hair to fall around me. I checked the water making sure it was warm enough, after stripping out of my pyjamas I stepped into the shower being greeted with the water touching my cold skin.

After showering and washing my hair I gotten out of the shower to dry off then to go put on an outfit. I wore a black tube top with long sleeves, jeans with rips in them and a pair of vans. I sat at my vanity, brushing my wet hair then dried it before straightening it, letting my hair fall down my back. Once I had finished getting ready, I grabbed my luggage and headed downstairs then left my stuff by the door. I standed heading into the kitchen to be greeted to the smell of French toast which placed a smile on my lips. I walked into the kitchen to see Tessa over at the stove cooking while our brother Trevor sat the table, which I happily helped him with. Tessa soon finished cooking and placed the a big stack of French toast on the table which we started to dig into.

I took my first bite of the food and moaned at the wonderful taste. "These are amazing Tess." I complimented her which she just nodded and chuckled.

I looked over to Trevor, noticing the saddened expression on his face before he looked over at me and frowned. "Do you really have to leave? Why can't you stay here with us a little longer, we miss you Eris."

I shook my head and leaned back in my chair crossing my arms. "You know I can't because something always happens when you two are around me for even this long so it's about time I go home."

Trevor pouted which made me chuckle only to frown at the sound of my awaiting car to honk it's horn, notifying me that it was time to go. I sighed and stood up from my seat as my siblings did the same thing before following me to the door. I turned to them after I slipped my shoulder bag on and was ambushed by hugs from the two making me chuckle but I hugged them back tightly. But soon we heard the car honk again making me pull away from them and made my way outside. My driver took my suitcase and put it in the trunk of the car as I got into the backseat of the car. I rolled down the window and waved once more at my siblings as my driver started the car before driving towards the big iron gates.

After a good half hour I was at the airport to start my journey home to Vancouver. The driver parked the car and got out of the car to get my suit case as I got out the car. I thanked the driver as I took my suitcase before heading inside the very busy airport. I went through check in and security so I had about ten minutes before my plane started to board. So I sat waiting for a good five minutes before heading towards the gates for my plane. I gotten there on time for boarding to start and was greeted by the captain and flight attendant. Before I was directed towards my seat once I got on the plane. After a few moments it was time for take off, I looked out the window as the plane descended into the sky.

I sighed mentally. Goodbye Montreal.

After all the plane rides, I was finally home in Vancouver. Once off the plane and I had gotten my bags I headed towards the doors being greeted by my driver home. I smiled kindly at him after he took my bags and placed them in the trunk of the car then I got into the backseat. The driver got into the car and started the engine before driving me back to my home. Even though the car ride didn't take that long, I was soon greeted by the all too familiar building of where my penthouse was. I sighed at the look of the gorgeous building of where I lived before getting out of the car. The driver helped me take my bags upstairs to my home then left me alone in the big place.

I took my bags to my room and left them there deciding I would unpack tomorrow. Deciding to leave the penthouse, I got into the elevator pressing the button for the lobby and descended down. I watched the numbers to the floor tick down till I heard the familiar bell ding signalling I was at my destination. I watched as the doors open to reveal the lobby, taking a deep breath I stepped out of the box and walked out the building. Once I did, I was hit in the face by the cool wind making me sigh in content. Walking down the busy sidewalk of Vancouver felt like a weigh was being lifted off my shoulders. Well that was until I bumped into a rock hard chest, stumbling back a bit I fell on my ass.

Good going Eris, pay more attention to your surroundings next time will you. I mentally scolded myself.

The stranger before me leaned down and grabbed my hand, helping me back to my feet. And that's when I felt a spark and tingling sensation giving me goosebumps. But the only time your supposed to feel something like that is when it's your mate I've been told about...

It can't be... I shouldn't have a mate, I'm a monster. Maybe the Moon Goddess is just joking right now. She has to be... Oh Moon Goddess please be joking right now... I prayed hoping it wouldn't be true.

The taller male looked down at me with a knowing look, but before he could say anything I ran. I heard the stranger following so I ran deeper in the crowd hopping I lost him. And I did thankfully. Sighing I made my way back to the apartment building but only taking the long way to make sure I wouldn't see the male again. I walked into the building rubbing my face as I entered the elevator and went up to my home. My mind still couldn't process the though of having a mate but that's only when my wolf, Alli, interrupted my thoughts.

"We have a mate! After a few years we have one! We have to find him Eris come on let's go find him! I believe we have his scent." Alli rambled on excitedly about the situation which only made me groan.

I sat on the couch in living room listening to Alli ramble on about having a mate. But that only went on for a few minutes before I head the elevator ding signalling that it reached it's floor. I shushed Alli as I stood up slowly from my seat and watched the doors open. It really felt like time had slowed down because those doors were taking awfully long to open. Though, when the doors did finally open it revealed to be a male around my age but then soon I recognized him as my ex-boyfriend Jason Williams the warlock.

My body stood still once we made eye contact making me remember we weren't on good terms in our relationship before I left. I watched him take in a deep breath and as he moved while he made his way inside and over to me. Once he was in front of me, I look up to him and next thing I know his arms are wrapped around me tightly as he embrace me. His face was buried into the crook of my neck, making me take in his scent. I heard him sighed but only to heard Alli huffed in annoyance making me to hold in my laughter.

I pulled away from Jason's tight embrace and backed up a few feet away from him, making him frown in confusion. I watched as he reached for my hand but I slipped my hands in my jacket pocket. I keep watching every movement he made and looked him over. I noticed that he had some stubble on his chin, his hair slightly messy as if he was always running his fingers through his hair. He looked exhausted like he was always up at night, which I wouldn't be surprised if he was since he never liked to sleep.

"Eris..." The sound of Jason's voice pierced through my thoughts making me look up at him, having him sigh in relief. "So you are real and alive-"

I rolled my eyes, taking my hands out my pocket and crossing my arms as I cut him off. "Of course I'm real and alive. Why wouldn't I be?"

I noticed he was taken back by my tone which made Alli chuckled making me mentally shush her.

I watched him as looked me over, probably to make sure it was me, before speaking with a small smile. "You didn't change one bit. We'll besides the new attitude." He whispered to his self, hoping I didn't hear him. Even though I did.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "Why are you here Jason?"

Jason looked over at me once more before replying to the question with a sigh. "I would normally come here at this time when you were gone and just walk around looking for any clues on where you could've gone."

I narrowed my eyes at Jason and growled lowly. "So you're telling me that you been coming into my home and going through my things?" Alli growled in my head as I took a deep breath to keep calm. "Well Jason, those days are over. I'm back and you don't need to be here anymore. Now leave."

A flash of hurt could've been seen through his eyes, making me watch his movement. But after a minute or two Jason nodded his head slowly and left with his head hanging down. I watched as he entered the elevator and the doors closed making me rub my temples. Groaning I laid down on the couch for a while waiting for dark and just thinking about the day I've had. But then soon I fell asleep on the couch holding a pillow close to my chest.

A few hours later I woke up with a pain in my head making me clutch my head in pain. I was able to hear Alli whimpering in pain because I'm guessing she felt it as well. It was an unbearable pain that seemed like a headache just ten times worst. Groaning I got off the couch stumbling a bit as I tried to make my way to the bathroom for some aspirin. Before I could even make it at least five feet away from the couch, both Alli and I howled out in pain but I quickly covered my mouth to not be heard by anyone downstairs.

Leaning against the wall, I took in some deep breaths to gather more strength to help me walk. I pushed off the wall slowly as I continued to make my way to the bathroom. Grabbing on to the railing to the stairs, I slowly climbed up the stairs gritting my teeth together. After a few steps or so I fell to one knee grunting, I stayed like that for a couple of minutes before I stood back up.

After making my upstairs and looked towards the bathroom, which had to be at the most five feet away. I groaned, not because of how far it was but from my aching head. Taking one step towards the bathroom, I ended up leaning against the wall. Whimpering in pain, I continued to make my way to the bathroom while still leaning against the wall. Once I was close enough to the door and I reached out, but failed to grab the door knob.

I kept trying before my legs decided to give out from under me, sending me to floor. Wincing I turned on to my back staring at the ceiling, as tears were brought to my eyes threatening to spill out. But before even one tear could be released, I screamed out. Screaming out in pain, I shut my eyes tightly and in the doing so I released all my tears. I don't think I've ever screamed this loud in my entire life.

Soon I felt my finger nails turning into claws, my ears turning pointed, and my teeth becoming sharper. I felt my eyes changing but I don't know what to. I then felt Alli being pushed back from surfacing, but I wasn't the one who was doing it. I felt Alli trying to struggle against whatever it was till I couldn't feel her as much as I normally do. So instead of feeling Alli, I felt a whole unfamiliar presence in her place. Then soon my eyes snapped opened unwillingly.

"Hello Eris." Was all I heard before my eyes fell closed.
