1. The visit

Its hard to keep focusing on a lecture when you already have a lot of things on your mind. Meeting dad after school being the biggest reason for my lack of concentration.

Don't get me wrong. I love my dad but as school is about to end, I can't think of any reason for him to show up just now. There's still time after the school ends and before college begins and I bet he has a lot of important things to do rather than visit his daughter just a few weeks before exam. Anyway, I'm anxious nonetheless.

Well, you are probably wondering who I am. My name is Stella and I am a high school student in my senior year. I am not one of the brightest students but I'm not that bad at studies either. Oh, and did I mention that I'm a hybrid, probably not I guess.

When the bell rang signaling the end of school, I couldn't be more relieved, but also nervous at the same time. Somehow I knew that the day was far from over and it was going to be a long one.

As I was walking towards my car, my mind kept going back to my friends. They had never met my father and didn't have a clue about me being supernatural. Guess I'll have to explain to them tomorrow why I left in such hurry to not even bother to say goodbye.

Parking in front of my house I unlock the door and hurry up to my room as soon as possible. Honestly, I was never the one to care about my looks but with my dad coming I had to look somewhat presentable. Wearing a casual yet decent attire. I settled on wearing the same jeans but changing the top.

As soon I was finished freshing up and was dressed having my hair in a ponytail, the doorbell rang. I opened the door to find my father standing in the doorway having two guards behind him and probably a lot more scattered around the house keeping a watch.

My father didn't look much older than me and to anyone else, would look like man in his early-thirties. Well, what can I say there are some advantages in being supernatural after all. He was a well built man with his hieght being 6'3, grey eyes and black hair.

Well, everyone tells me I have my mother's eyes - brown coloured that is - and her long black hair but I resemble my father a lot. My 5'8 height just another resemblance between me and my mother who I don't remember much about.

My father had a huge smile on his face upon seeing me and I couldn't help but hug him right there as I had missed him a lot. Honestly, having to live in a house all by yourself isn't a lot of fun all the time. Although it does have its advantages, it still sometimes suck.
