Chapter 1
Unraveling Alex was exactly how I imagined it would be to discover a new planet. Difficult, time-consuming and very complicated. Full of unanswered questions. But, even though, it still gave me the feeling that I was doing something right. And Alex was so complicated that he could be a whole planet itself. With its own form of life, his own gravity and atmosphere. No, he wasn’t like anyone I’d met before. And I’m not saying this only because of his eccentric quirks and his complicated obsessions. It was as if his own essence was to be extraordinary. I could watch him for an eternity and never get tired. His eyes, deep and dark, like a cat’s. His ways to slowly let me into his life. There was no human being in this world that could ever be compared to Alex. And it took me a while to figure that out: at first sight, he seemed only a regular pretty boy with terrible social abilities and hands that never stopped moving. But, little by little, he started captivating me and, before I realized, I was already fascinated. Upside down. Finding out new sides of love I had never known. Oh, Alex, I have lived through things most 19 years old haven’t, and still, somehow, nothing really prepared for the single moment our orbits crossed.
