Greenless

Far away where fire roars against the evergreen...

Seeds of memories where home use to be...

Watching windows burn down from many visions that are blurred...

Stored away in the Netherlands...

Packing up what I saved from the gasoline...

Carrying old love that’s morphed into the new me...

Tears of thorns scratching my cheeks from the past...

Wondering what has molded into me will ever last...

I’m so deep in the sand that I can’t see my steps,

I can’t predict where my travels will lead me...

I’ll just wander into life hoping light finds me again,

Buried in the Netherlands...

Beyond the evergreen...

But I so miss the islands that I use to have,

When the birds would come over and have a good laugh

Now they flown south and never returned...

Guess home was getting a little too cold...

Sizzling in the heat with no water in my veins,

Is this the end?

Is this the end of my melody?

The end of an era of me?

I’m waving goodbye...

Goodbye...

To the speckled faces that I’ve smiled with before...

Hopefully I’ll see you again...

And cheers to the new lands that await in my world...

A world that is greenless, yet endless...
