Foreword

It does not matter if you are adults or children, we invite you to prepare yourself a good (a very good) cup of tea and make yourself comfortable: the adventures of the most average of heroes – of the most special of all – are about to begin. If you have ever been at the end of your rope, smothered by the too many chores and duties of your everyday life, then you are just like our Tyon Grey. If you have ever been upset, crushed by delusion and by the fear of being a complete failure, then you are just like our Tyon Grey. If you have ever walked with the eyes on your shoes, like there is some sort of treasure map to follow inscribed there, or took a stroll with your head in the clouds, then you are just like our Tyon Grey. If, despite everything, you feel a fire burning in you even if you have not yet understood what is it or what to make of it, then you are just like our Tyon Grey.

There are lots of novels about the brave ones. Lots about heroes and villains, of dramatic damsels in distress and foolish goofs, but never enough about dreamers. Luckily, in this novel you are going to find nothing but kind and clever men and women who dream of making their world a better place, and of giving birth to the ones in their imagination. You are going to find dreams as bright as supernovae, taking your imagination as high as possible and then letting you go – floating in a space made of stories and worlds created with patience, love and devotion.

Because unlike what the slick-looking people – those who live nestled in the inner circuits of society like some well-greased gear – tend to think, the dreamers don’t run from reality nor adventure: they throw themselves into it. Most of the times, they just need somebody who believes in them, the slightly-warped gears.

If you are a little gear different from any other, not-serrated, keyed, ruined, crooked, in short, deliciously imperfect, then you are just like our Tyon Grey.

Bon voyage, and bundle up.
