I stared at the clock waiting for it to hit 10pm. You see, I worked at a pharmacy my parents owned. They were on a cruise ship relaxing and left me to take care of the pharmacy. Ten more minutes till I can lock up shop. Finally! Today was pretty busy but when it neared night everyone went back into their houses for safety.

I closed my eyes remembering the encounter with my parents before they left.

In my mother's words, "Soon this will be your palace, you need to learn to handle it by your self, plus, I wanna go see all the hotties on the boat."

My father shouted "Hey! I'm right here you know"

"Oh don't worry honey, for the twenty three years I have put up with you, I could never leave you, you would die without me, I'll just be checking out the hotties for Ria"

My dad's face changed completely. The playfulness in his voice disappeared. "My daughter is to young for boys."

Mom chuckled, "She can't be your baby forever, she's getting old, she needs to find someone."

She is hell bent on finding me a boyfriend. I really don't see why, I can be a successful young independent woman, having a boyfriend would just distract me from my goals.

Just a couple more days and I would be a doctor. I would open my clinic right next to the pharmacy. When I give prescriptions, everyone won't have to look far and I would be sure it would be affordable to all.

I glanced at the clock again. Five more minutes again. I pushed myself off my chair and got the keys and on my way to the doors I took off all the lights.

I feel like I'm forgetting something. What is it? Lock all the cabinets? No. Check for monkeys? No I did that too. Talk to the ghosts in the store room? Nope. I already told Casper goodnight and tucked Boo,his monkey in bed.

"You know your imagination is wild. Its your bag stupid!"

Right! Silently thanking my conscience, I ran and grabbed my bag and went bag to the door. I knew this place so well I can could find my way around even in the dark.

After checking that I did everything I locked up the doors and turned around to walk home. I live a couple houses down so I didn't see the need to waste gas when I could just get a little exercise. We all know that I need it. Those late night studying with pizza did not help my case at all.

Just as I was about to start my 'daily exercise' A boy frantically ran up to me. I couldn't see him properly but he was gorgeous. At first, I thought he was trying to rob me so I pulled out some jalapeno spray. Yes, not pepper spray because apparently those are illegal and you can't use them in officers trying to give you a ticket. Who knew?

"AHH FUCK! " he cursed, his hands flying to cover his eyes.

"Why did you do that for?!" He questioned.

"You are trying to rob me and you ask why I sprayed you?!" The sass in my voice was very heavy.

"Wh- rob you? No! I came to ask for help!" He pointed to the clinic next to the pharmacy. Yes, I know I haven't been a certified doctor yet, but my tomorrow when I get results I will know.

"What's the matter?" I asked suddenly worried. He doesn't need to know I'm not a professional yet.

"It's my sister, I went in her room to make sure she wasn't getting nightmares and her bed and sheets were covered in blood!" He grabbed my hand leading me towards his house.

When we finally reached his house,he unlocked the door and we stepped in. I don't know how to describe it but the house,it felt so homey, you could feel the love in the house.

He pointed to the stairs, "Second door to the left, tell her the key word is koala, I'm going to wash my eyes."

Worried and scared I sped up the stairs and dashes into the room. On opening the door I saw a little girl crying. Her sheets where covered in blood.

She looked up with tears rolling down here face,her brown doe eyes staring at me in confusion. "Who are you?" Her voice was shakey.

"I'm your brother's friend, the secret word is koala," I said with a smile.

"I'm here to help,what wrong?"

She looked at me,her eyes searching mine to be sure she can trust me.

Finally, she spoke up, "I-I don't know what happened, I woke up and my pajamas were bloody," her voice went to a whisper, "I think it's coming from down there,you know,my private part." Her face was flushed.

A smile found itself on my face. She is so innocent compared to other girls her age. They are already wearing makeup and going out in outfits that look like a bra and underwear alone. I mean, don't get me wrong,you can show a little skin and all but I personally think that children should cherish childhood. I certainly missed when all I had to worry about was the monster under my bed. I am completely fine with the girls this generation, I just think that they gotta have more fun, remember teddy bears and bouncy castles and not think they are too old for them.

"You are around twelve or thirteen right?" I asked her.

"Twelve."

Oh,she started her period.

"Um, I really think this is a talk you and your mom should have." I replied

Her entire body changed. "My brother, Jason, he says that mom and dead are in heaven, I know they are dead but he never talks to me."

"Oh." Was all that came out of my mouth. I'm so stupid. Well I had to tell her.

There was a knock on the door. Jason came in, "how's it going doc?"

Oh god

"Um, I'll need to talk to you outside," I told him.

Before I left I turned to her, "You should go bathe sweetie, just leave your clothes by the door and I'll get it." Then I stepped out of the room and closed the door.

His beautiful brown eyes filled with worry. Damn, he is actually really good looking. His light brown hair in its messy state making him look even hotter. He was well built also.

Would you focus, you need to tell a clueless boy that his little sister started her period.

"Um, well, good news, she is not dying, although it may feel like that, she um, she kinda started her period."

"Oh." Embarrassment covered his cute face.

Girl,tell your hormones to shut up, no boys until you are officially a doctor remember.

The voice in my head really needs to shut up,it's really annoying.

Well, I'm your voice so technically you called yourself annoying dumbass.

I glared at the voice in my head sending curse words its way.

"Anyhow,do you have an old brush? And soap, and a sink I can use?"

"Sure,gimme a sec."

I stand there waiting for him to return. I took this time to look around the house. There were so much pictures. The one that caught my eye was one when Jason was in a unicorn costume with his sister on his shoulders in a fairy costume. He really loves his sister. Under the picture it was labelled, "Kenzie"s 10th birthday."

"What got you all smiley?" I heard a voice ask me.

My hands raise to my face to find me grinning like a idiot. I turned to him, " You love her alot don't you?"

An adorable grin appeared on his face an his eyes lighted up. "With all my heart"

We both just stood there staring at eachother like they do in movies.

"Here," he said, shoving the brush and soap in my hand.

I shake my head and mumbled a 'thanks' and went in Kenzie's room and took her clothes.

Jason directed me to the sink and disappeared.

I took my hair tie and put my hair a a quick messy ponytail and began to clean her bloody clothes. Some people would be grossed out but in training to become a doctor o have grown accustomed to blood.

When I was finally finished I went looking for Jason.

"JASON! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

Jason suddenly appeared covering his ears.

"Damn girl,whatever you lack in height you make up in voice,you are really loud and how do you know my name?."

"Well I'm sorry Mr. Six one and your sister told me," I replied putting my hand on my hip.

"Six three," he corrected with a smirk on his face.

I roll my eyes. I'm short I get it jeez. "Whatever, here put these to dry." I insisted as I handed him the clothes.

He left and I walked over to Kenzie's room and knocked on her door.

"Come in," a little voice said.

I walked in the door and pulled out a pad from my bag and handed it to her. This action was followed by me showing her how to use it and explaining what a period is.

"Thank you!" She said hugging me. I hugged her back.

"So what's your name?" Kenzie questioned.

"Rhianna but you can call me Ria."

"That's a pretty name," a Male voice remarked

I turned around to see Jason coming to sit next to me in the bed.

"Thanks for helping Kenzie, I really don't know what I would have done."

I replied with a kind smile.

I looked at my watch, "Well its getting late,I should go."

"I'll walk you out," jason kindly offered.

When we reached the stairs and I was about to leave rain started to pour. Just my luck.

I turned to watch jason who was already watching me and we both started laughing after a few seconds.

"It's really late, why don't you spend the night?" Jason spoke

"I couldn't, " I replied. I couldn't sleep by a stranger,even if he is hot with an adorable sister.

After much arguing I agreed to spend the night.

Dear lord, he stupidness better pay off,oh wait I get to watch Mc. Dreamy,I don't mind.

Oh shut up! And I saw that grey's anatomy plug.

I will be spending the night in a stranger's house with him and his little sister.

Lord please keep me safe.
