You're that someone
Since Paige Simmons had entered the big not so pearly gates of high school, she wanted to find a love similar to those in the movies. They usually called it the fairy tale love, which also meant that it was sort of impossible to find. But despite the things everybody else had said, Paige still believed that a fairy tale kind of love did exist. She was not the most beautiful girl in the school and she hadn't had her first kiss yet. She had liked the same guy since freshman year. His name was Andy Peterson. She was just a hopeless romantic who was waiting for her prince charming.
While sitting in the cafeteria, Paige could see Andy's friends laughing at her. That was one of the few things that she could not handle.
"Don't let them ruin vour day, " Ally said. "They're not worth it." Ally had been Paige's best friend, since kindergarten. Paige just looked at her food and rolled her blue-grey eyes.
"If his friends are laughing... imagine what he's thinking."
"You never know, maybe he secretly likes you!"
"Yeah... maybe in my dreams," Paige said practically expressionless. A part of Paige was telling herself to just move on. She was not going to live forever.
After three weeks of holiday, Paige was ready to face the world again. She had spent almost the entire three weeks wondering about Andy. Just a few weeks ago she had still thought that they were destined to be together. Until now. Paige was finally free of Andy and totally ready to start living her life again. Maybe this new chapter in her life would involve someone special. Paige didn't know why, but she had this constant feeling that she was craving a love so sweet and so forbidden. It was a compelling feeling, but she had no idea what to do about it. That was why she was so determined to start her day, to shake that feeling.
"You look strangely happy today..." Ally said suspiciously.
"What are you trying to say? That I'm normally a depressed loner?" Paige said sarcastically.
"And she's feisty too! This could only mean one thing!
"What?" Paige asked with raised eyebrows.
"Paige is in love!!" Ally sang tauntingly.
"No I'm not!"
"Yes, you are."
"No, seriously, I'm not. It's just... I think this semester is going to be different. In a good way."
"I'm glad to hear that! So, any new victims on your list, Ms Simmons?" Ally asked in a secretive tone.
"I don't know... I'll let you know when I see one."
The rest of that day, Paige paid attention in most of her classes and was working hard. Until she entered her European History class. At first she did not know who the teacher could be, because a new had been assigned to that class. When she saw him, her breath was taken away. On the black board he had written his full name. Mr Mason Blake Chandler. He didn't look much older than Paige. For Paige it was probably the strangest thing, but there was this "thing" that pulled her towards him. Some sort of unnatural force in her mind that was telling her to talk to him. The only thing that was going through her mind was what the hell is this about?
After school she searched him on the internet. She saw that he had graduated the previous year, so he was 19 years old. Only 2 years older than Paige.
"Mom, I'm going out to buy a milkshake. Do you or Dad want anything?" Paige asked her mom. She needed to get out of that house... just to breathe in some fresh air.
"I want a chocolate milkshake!" Paige's little brother, Sam, yelled from his room.
"We're fine, thanks sweetie!" Paige's mom said.
Paige got her jacket and started walking to the beachfront. One would have to walk about a mile before reaching a little ice cream shop, Sweet Delight. It was one of Paige and Ally's favorite hangouts. While she waited for her fries and the milkshakes, she noticed that someone was watching her. She could feel it. She turned around and jumped at the sight of her European History teacher. They both smiled.
About two weeks and a series of awkward encounters later, Paige was walking on the beach at night. She was lost... not physically, but mentally. Paige couldn't stop thinking about Mason, but her mind was telling her that she had to stop before it went any further than it already had. Someone grabbed onto her left arm, but she was not scared. In her mind she knew who it was.
"If somebody sees you here with me-" Paige said in a shaky voice.
"I know I'll probably lose my job. But we... may I ask you something?"
"Yes?"
"What's going on here?"
"What do you mean?" Paige asked.
"Since that day you walked into my class... there's been this never ending awkward moment between us. I just... I want to know why. Don't you like me?"
"It's anything but that! But I think we should just leave it..."
"You're lying... that's not what you want," Mason almost whispered.
"Don't you think I know that?!" Paige screamed.
Mason looked at her with the saddest look in his eyes. Paige started to walk away. He ran towards her.
"Paige!"
"What?!"
He grabbed her and pulled her closer so fast that Paige stopped breathing. He kissed her deeply and passionately. Paige couldn't stop herself... they melted together. A tear dropped from her eye as they kissed. It was pure, passionate and... forbidden.
