Yesterday was the first day I've been back to the golden beach by our grove in three long months. I'm still dumbfounded as to how that olive tree persists. Persists. You know what persists? The damn olive pits on the ground. My feet still land on a couple like they did yours.
The tide pools have become infested with mussels. I don't have your way with animals, so everything down there's shot to hell. At least I apologized to your anemones.
I traced your name into the sand. I probably won't see it tomorrow 'cause of the tide. I collected another pinch of sand for you. It's in a baggy by my bedside. You should come get it before I inevitably spill it and get it in my eyes.
