Summary

Derek Wilson was a boy who lived a normal life. Got good grades, had multiple friends and was always honest. But what happens when he comes home only to be traumatized? What'll happen when it’s years later and he meets Rosalyn Pierce? Rosalyn had always noticed the quiet kid that sat at the very back of the class, always wore a hoodie, and never took it off. She always got warnings from her classmates not to talk to him. That he was crazy. “He killed his parents.” They’d tell her. “He didn’t have enough time to kill his brother, the neighbors called the police before he could.” But these rumors only intrigued Rosalyn. Whatever truly happened Rosalyn was what Rosalyn wanted to figure out.

Derek had walked up the stairs that lead to his front door, dread hanging heavy in his heart.

He pulled out his keys and began opening the door when he heard the back door open, he found that odd as no one never really went into the backyard unless they were watering moms plants, which was done a few hours ago.

Wyatt never went outside either seeing as he was just a month old and Mom's constant paranoia kept him from going outside.

"Mom? Mom is that you?" Derek yelled out. He looked over the railing on the porch and saw the gate was locked. He shrugged and jumped over, using the rail for support.

He heard hurried footsteps and the back fence rattling, and without a second thought, he'd begun running. Praying to God that these were just some kids playing around in the alley or something.

His prayers were swatted aside just as one would a fly. Three men in black clothing were running away. Their faces masked with Black bandanas. One carrying a gun as they ran.

He’d never been so scared in his life as thoughts of his family went through him, without hesitation, He ran into the house through the back door, his breathes coming out in pants.

"Mom! Dad! Oh, God!" He froze at the sight of his parents on the floor. Harold with a gunshot wound to his heart. Dead. Mary on the floor with a knife to her stomach the slightest movement from her chest.

"Please, Mom!" He yelled as he ran towards her. His hands hovering over her wound trying to think of what the best solution was.

"Wyatt. Look for Wyatt." Mary whispered, her hand grabbing his.

Slowly her hand fell from his, her chest moved once. Twice. And stopped.

First it was the tears. Then it was the heart wrenching sobs he'd released.

Hi love, I'm here to give you some tips as requested. Firstly let me say that this story started off with a great boom. Here is some feedback: I see that you're writing in third person. I would suggest minimizing your usage of Derek's name so it's not too repetitive. Try using "he" more often. You should also be wary of run-on sentences.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...

BlackKat07: Loved the characters and plot. Unfortunately after about chapter 10 the book really needs a good proof-read - lots of spelling and grammatical errors that spoiled it for me.
