Prologue
On a chillingly cold and snowy day, a woman with long locks of wavy brown hair stood by the yard appearing serene and beautiful, in the midst of the falling snow, she looked like she was part of a painting.
That was how a certain man felt towards seeing his wife. For even after nine years of one-sided love, two years of courting and five years of marriage full of struggles and hardship, he still found his wife to be very beautiful.
“What are you doing out in the snow? you should come in before you catch a cold.” the man said, his voice deep and laced with tenderness, his eyes reflecting love.
The woman turned around and smiled, her eyes twinkling with happiness knowing her husband was finally back from work.
She then hurriedly went inside their warm house and excitedly hugged her husband. Even after so many years of being together, she still treasured and loved the moment his arms went around her, surrounding her with warmth and safety. It was those very arms that comforted her through all the difficulties and his voice the one to assure everything will be fine.
“You’re back!” The woman said with a smile in her voice as she embraced her husband.
The man embraced his wife tightly as his gaze turned his gray eyes into molten silver.
“Hm. I’m home.”
The woman then broke free of their hug and faced her husband with a proud grin in which made the man look on with curiosity, a question in his gray orbs.
“I put the baby to sleep this time! She’s finally dreaming so deeply, I feel relieved.” the woman said with a smile still in her beautiful face.
The man laughed, still embracing his wife, he was proud of her. Their daughter was indeed troublesome, he wouldn’t wonder where that trait came from though because that very same trait existed in his beloved.
“You know, all this time I’ve been thinking...” the woman said.
“Thinking what?” the man asked.
The woman then smiled. “Thinking that back then, my intuition was right when I thought that you also had a crush on me way back in middle school.”
The man laughed again. Seriously, even before, this woman told him she had the tendency to talk about random things in which he didn’t mind. In fact, he always found it amusing. Her mind was naturally a multi-tasker, thinking about many things at the same time.
“You really do have an awesome intuition.”
She then grinned proudly. “Of course. If not for my intuition, how else would I know that you were the one for me?” she said jokingly.
The man laughed again and decided not to answer.
All those years ago before, when we were still bumbling, stumbling, innocent youths, the first glance, that first kiss, the fast beating of hearts, all these things feel distant as the years go by but still, all felt like it happened yesterday. Seemingly in a blur but so clear all at the same time...
