Streaks of lightning followed by the loud rumble of thunder broke throughout the night, under the heavy storm a woman tightly holding a child in her arms can be seen running frantically past the dense pack of trees seemingly a forest. the woman was gasping for air and her feet was aching from running but she hadnt slowed down at all her, "huff…goldia dear(pant) .. Dont worry ... Mother will take you to safety" the woman assuringly uttered, the child covered in a jacket too large for her size that looks only about 4 years old was crying unbeknownst what was happening, either scared by the roaring thunder or the hurried footsteps of the woman who claimed as her mother.
Exiting out of the forest the woman carrying the child drenched in rain stopped for a moment her eyes quickly searched around and saw by the docks a man dressed in a raincoat was beside a boat waving at them, inhaling deeply she again ran quickly to the direction of the dock. "Over here! Quickly!" The man shouted over, the storm was raging hard and the surrounding trees were swaying dangerously from the harsh winds looking as if it could topple over at anytime.
Arriving at the docks the woman hastily passed the child over to the man, pausing for a moment as if hesitating she then retrieved a small box putting it on the pocket of the childs large jacket "Goldia.. Always remember that your father and I love you... be a good girl alright? ... I-I'm sorry for not being there to see you grow up... But please know mother did this for your sake" The woman stuttered with stifled sobs, carressing the childs face one last time she then planted a kiss on the girls forehead.
"Mo-Motheer! Uwaah!" Confused and scared by the situation the child being held by the man was crying fervently trying to go back but the woman slowly walked back from the docks, "Ya sure you dont wanna go with your daughter?" The man stepping onto the boat asked loudly the waves was getting more crazier in the midst of the storm causing the boat to rock unsteadily, the woman stopped briefly "I cant... I must help out my husband... This.. is for goldia's sake too.. Sorry" her voice hinted with sadness reverated against the raging thunder the silhouette of her figure dissappearing into the forest, "Nooo! Motheeer!" the boat started to sail atop the surging waves one can distinctly hear a child wailing loudly amidst the storm...

“N, no!” Goldia struggled and woke up from her dreams with a start. She abruptly sat up, bathed in cold sweat only the sounds of her heavy breathing can be heard inside the bedroom. It was the same nightmare again, the memory of her past was always haunting her for countless of nights.
It had been 14 years since that fateful night happend, now that goldia was already at the legal age of 18 that particular fragment of memory was still clear as a day, she didn't know what had happend before all that or why did it even happend. Passing out from crying after being separated to her mother she then ended up waking in a unfamiliar place after the incident that night, her memories as a child was vague.
Staring blankly at the ceiling goldia calmed her heart that was rapidly beating. All she knew was that her family in the past consist of only her, her parents and the servants living in a big luxurious mansion, as far as she recalled despite that most of the time the maids were the one taking care of her daily needs, goldias parents never mistreated nor harm her.
Living as an only child goldia was different from most of the children her age, she never thrown a tantrum being in such an quiet place and instead enjoyed playing in the garden or was spending idle time coloring in a picture book.
Yet another mystery was what her parents do for a living, the last thing she recalled was that her parents would always stay to work in a room somewhat like a basement, the room was offlimits to most of the servants. Goldia didn't know what was in there but as a well mannered child she had never dared questioned her parents about it as they had never told her anyways.
Biting her lips while contemplating, she wanted to forget and let go of the past, trying all methods even as far as going to a psychiatrist it was all deemed useless it was no use she could not move on somehow which was driving her mad.
She sat up from the bed and reached for the drawer of the cabinet beside her, taking the item out was a small wooden lacquered box. As she traced the intricate design carved ontop witb her finger a glint of sadness flashed on her eyes, the wooden box was the last thing her mother gave before she went away holding it made her both sad and frustrated, looking at the bottom corner a small meticulously carved calligraphy was slightly noticeable 'Auclair' It was her family name.
"Atleast I know my old surname huh" She muttered under her breath.
Goldia had also tried to find her home back however she didn't even know where to start as she remembered that her house back then looked like it was placed in a isolated area away from the rest of the population, who knows if her old home was on the far end side of the earth.
Heaving a sigh she slowly opened the lid of the box revealing inside a gold plated pocket watch. A chain like necklace was attached at the top allowing it to be hung around the neck, at the front of the watch a beautifully detailed figure of a phoenix with its wings spread wide encircled with searing flames was giving of a majestic feeling, the rim around the magnificent figure was surrounded with over 6 embedded tiny colored jewels that glistened against the light. The entire masterpiece was enough to make anyone admire like it was a famous art. Just by looking, one can tell that it must be really expensive.
She wondered at some point, the night they were separated her mother had given this to her. Is there a deeper reason why she had done that? Or could it be really just a parting gift? Goldia snickered at the last part.
Flipping the pocket watch open, a serene melody suddenly started to envelope the whole room.
'So familiar like ive heard of it before' goldia thought as she listened to the soothing sound coming from the pocket watch.
Aside from the fact that the watch was crafted expertly by some master this was another feature that made this particular pocket watch different from the rest, everytime the pocket watch opens, like a music box a tune that was calming yet beautiful would start playing giving off a rather nostalgic and pure vibe to the person listening. Goldia always like listening to the melody of this pocket watch, she had never heard any tune like this before thinking that this must be originally composed.
Having been woken up by a nightmare goldia laid back down her bed still clutching the pocket watch, the beautiful melody playing like a lullaby. Glancing at the time in the watch, it was still only midnight. Only the sounds of the melody can be heard, the moonlight illuminating through the thin curtains of her window, such scene gave off peacefulness.
As time passed, goldia continuedly stared at the watch in her hands, her eyes getting heavier by the minute until it slowly shut and she later drifted off to sleep.
