Summary

Matt O'Neill's life is taking several complicated turns. An imp has taken up residence in his mind and is experimenting with his brain chemistry in an effort to take possession of his behavior. The imp is incompetent though and has so far mastered only the ability to make Matt crave Woodford Reserve whiskey. Matt's craving for whiskey brings him in constant contact with his bartender, whom he is gradually falling for. Meanwhile, during his day light hours, Matt, slaves away in his corporate job at the Global Data Machines corporation where he has run afoul of some vindictive software developers who intend to use the Internet to do him in. Matt must fight for survival as these forces gather strength and threaten to overwhelm his coping ability. Will Matt survive as random experiments with his brain chemistry leave him increasingly vulnerable and prone to romantic delusions about Jackie, his lovely bartender? Will he prevail as the dark side of the Internet and the cable news media is brought to bear against him? Follow Matt's trials and tribulations in the comic novel Lord of the Files as he fights against the powerful forces that assail him from all sides.
