Wages of Sin
"This was a short story that I should have read before both of the longer versions, an excerpt which is slightly different to them. As usual with work by this skilled author, the details and descriptions are magnificent. An intriguing tale of one man's effort to hunt twenty renegades at the end of the Civil War. A wonderful love story of how he saves a woman from inevitable rape and death by those marauders. This was a well-written, stand-alone story, and I enjoyed reading it . I can recommend it to anyone who wants an exciting, short read."
The wages of Sin
"An excellent short story about the uncertain times after a war, when men trained to kill are left to find their own way. The difference between right and wrong are decided by good leadership, and with none mistakes are made. It takes a strong man to right the wrong. Awesomely well written."
